Good day.

Up until now the point of the Probation Usergroup was to evaluate players returning from indefinite bans in order to judge whether or not they can be a part of the community. This has worked for a while, but has also led to situations where previous users were denied for not posting enough content in the appropriate sections of the community as well as conflicting views of Discovery staff members as to where the members may and may not post - this including the Kudos, Disconnected and feedback threads of other factions as well as sections such as the OORP Market Place.
Which caused issues as up until now the point of the member being physically able to post outside of their restricted sections was in order to show restraint and the ability to conform to server rules.

As such, the Team has voted that starting from today, the Probation Usergroup will be allowed to post outside of the roleplay sections an will have the same rights as the standard Member usergroup. However, members who have been found breaking the server or forum rules under these accounts or associated alts will be subject to have their participation in the community brought up for review.

The Server Rules post for Probation has also been amended in the light of this change.
Please re-introduce yourselves with this update HERE.

Note: These changes retroactively apply to all members currently under Probation.

Does it mean that some people might get an amnesty?

Oh, and I consider this a welcome change. It's either that the member in question behaves and contributes to the community (win) as usual or gets instafragged (also win).
Why not just hide posts by default until a staff members review and unhide the posts for this particular user group ?
Will we see the return of our martyr Lyth the Coremaster?
This is good. Glad that it turned out this way as there's only win-win situation for community. Either probated users stay productive or they get banned quicker for not changing their ways.
