Hello all. I used to play freelancer back in the day dabbled in void but it never caught me. I was on a rp server them but that was along time ago.
So I've been playing disco for about a week, been involved in some rp but not enough for my liking. Are there any current clans/groups that get up to alot? Floating about on your own making$$ is ok but I need more then just trading and mining

As for your question, there are honestly many factions around that do stuff ingame. What I'd suggest is you just flying around and discovering the world on your own, while talking to the people you meet on your way. At some point, you'll have a good grasp of what groups of people there are, and what kind of faction you might enjoy. Good moneymaking factions, as far as I am aware, would currently be IMG and GMG.

Welcome to Discovery! As for the money question, you're almost better helped with if you trade alone and not in a big group, as that attracts pirates and merciless counterloggers. If you can deal with that, just have a look at
this here, as it shows the activity of the current factions. It's a good indicator to see who is active enough to get in touch with and have fun together.
I'd personally suggest to join [*USI*], a Universal Shipping Official Player Faction. They are moderately active, have nice members who don't have bad reputation, aren't primarily target ooRPly and have a solid structure.

Hiya.
If you're interested, I'm try to build up a new group around a casino base in Dublin.
Activities there would include the following:
-Duels and Races (in role play environment, unlike Connecticut)
-Betting credits on Duels and Races or dice
-Defending miners, haulers, and the base against pirates
-Flying escort to long range cargo haulers
-mining alone to sell at a nearby station, hauling gold from that station, or working in teams mining an hauling (much profit for you)
If you want to join you won't be required to engage in more than one of the activities above, and only at the times when you feel like it.
You'd also be offered the following if you choose to join: Training in Fighter and Bomber combat, help with setting up ships (miners, haulers, or combat craft), and general advice on the game.
