Shortly after, a strapping young man walks in, taking short glimpses around to take a gander of the area. Had he realized the extent of where he was going to, he would've thought twice about wearing his less business-like set of clothing apparel. Either way, his glimpse fell on a young woman with a rather nice business suit and with a red ribbon woven into her shining auburn hair. On her lapel bore the familiar golden badge of the Gas Miner's Guild. Unlike her however he did not possess a silver badge or other token but rather an ID of sorts clipped onto his belt. He wiped his hand down his beard in preparation for the looks he was about to get. Regardless, he walked with a confident stride to the table where she was sitting and began pulling up a chair when out of the corner of his eye he spotted something out the window. The city was nice without a doubt but it saddened Kaiichi to see sights that had not changed amongst humans in millennia. He walked over to the window and looked down to see three hooded figures seemingly innocently grouping together like a small friend group - then the one of the figures handed two items to each of the other figures. It was too dark to see what they were holding (the height of course didn't help either) but he could make a very confident guess - Cardamine. The sad drug was a common sight in this day and age. Its structure breaking up and altering complex DNA was rather scary and the fact it wasn't going away anytime soon made things worse. He let out a small sigh after the exchange and walked back to the chair and sat himself down. The young woman - which he knew as Hotaru Mori - gave him a strange look. Not surprising, considering he pulled a chair half-way out then randomly walked to the window then back again. In fact he was getting glancing looks from either sides of the restaurant as well (The casual clothing helped with that). Kaiichi felt compressed, like the air around him was closing on him. Embarrassment. He shook it off and rose his head with a small smile. A waiter came and asked to take his order. He waved him off calmly,. "Would you mind giving me some time?" The waiter nodded - annoyed - and walked off. Kaiichi noticed the waiter didn't even ask if he wanted his drink first, which was somewhat rude. Being in his father's company, he'd experienced fancy diners with their waiters and waitresses before. Never liked them, always preferred 'hole in the wall' locations. Small, not well known, but the food would always blow you away. An unfortunate trend being the servicers in fancier locations would often place more importance on how much money they made in tips rather than actually care about their customers' service. Not all were like that though and that gave him a little bit of hope that the trend would go away. He took a good stare at the menu, it was haphazard. Not in organization, but in price and quality. It left him somewhat confused, most of the places he went to specialized and the prices usually didn't go above or below a 10 - 20 credit average but these prices were all over the place. On the flip side, at least it was well-organized. It was placed in sections (it was a tri-fold menu, rather antique in idea and design). One section had prices between 15 and 5 credits - most were fried fishes, antique Asian-style dishes (General Tso's Chicken was in there, a pleasant surprise for Kaiichi) and various cheap sushi rolls and dishes involving some sort of meat with rice. Interestingly enough, there were a few burgers stashed in there as well. Another pleasant surprise. in another section were dishes ranging from 15 - 55 credits. The largets price range he saw. In this one there was grilled fish, full sushi rolls, sashimi, hotpots, lobster, and various other seafood items alongside fried meats and other entree' assortments. Finally, there was the pricey section. 250 to 2000 credits. Ludicrous prices, but it made sense. These weren't synthetic. the other food items on the menu are cut and printed from Synth Paste. After consuming just the paste several years ago the populations of the quadrants wanted more, so printers utilizing the paste in unusual and fun ways came about. Unfortunately, Synth paste has a certain aftertaste that is present in all foods made with it and is considered a low-class meal. You want to eat something that matters? the fresh, imported goods. Sure, fish pork, and cow amongst other food items still existed but with the domination of Synth Foods across the market the demand just naturally leaned to Synth paste. it's much cheaper, and it can be modified and molded to include only certain tastes and/or nutrients and vitamins. As stated before though, it has that strange unexplainable aftertaste that - by the belief of some - is very uncomfortable. The general populous just agree that is has to do with the manufacturing process and Synth Foods Inc. Clearly hasn't made any effort to remove it regardless. After looking about the menu, Kaiichi decided to spoil himself a bit and go with the General Tso's - but made with fresh, real ingredients and not Synth paste. He waited for the Waiter to return and requested it as well as a glass of sweet tea with light ice - fresh, not synthesized. The waiter again seemed annoyed wth the specific requests but it was his job anyways. He turned to Hotori and said "Alright then, so what did you go with?"
