The Marine Royale Gauloise is the reformed primary fleet of the Gallic Royal Navy. It continues to follow the traditions that were held for hundreds of years, working for the government and the King to pacify the Kingdom’s threats and ensure peace. Now, the Royal Navy is facing its biggest trial and goal: the conquest and occupation of its enemies.

The Gallic Royal Navy was formed shortly after the crippled French sleeper ship reached Ile-de-France in 84 A.S. In the beginning, the main agenda of the Gallic Royal Navy was space exploration and searching for the other sleeper ships of the former Alliance. With the passage of time and the isolation of Gallia, as well as space flight becoming accessible to many groups and corporations, including criminals, the Gallic Royal Navy switched to internal security tasks. However, they continued to maintain a large number of capital ships and several research projects determined to create superior ships and weapons in case war with the other Houses ever occurred. Today, the Gallic Royal Navy is a powerful military force that can counter any threat to the Crown inside or outside the borders of Gallia.

The Gallic Royal Navy has been fighting a long war with Gallic rebels known as the Council. Since 748 A.S, the war wages on over the misguided idea that the Royalist policy of isolation and preparation for total war is detrimental to Gallia and that the current government is oppressive and corrupt. The war ended for a time, but the rebellion that started in 794 A.S. on the planet Marne is universally considered the beginning of the Second Gallic War, a struggle that continues to this day.

The current long term goal of the Royal Navy is to subjugate the former Alliance Houses, although Bretonia and Liberty are the main focus of the Crown's ire. The Royal Navy has been moving forward almost non-stop building ships, researching military technology, gathering intelligence, stealing technology, and training new recruits to make war. This ultimate goal, however, was put on hold by the Council when they managed to capture the Languedoc system, break through the minefields there and in Lorraine, and make first contact with the other Sirius Houses. This unfortunate event on the one side, made Gallia's presence known to the rest of Sirius earlier than planned, but on the other side essentially started the Gallic invasion of the Taus systems in 818 A.S.

Within a short period of time the overwhelming Gallic Forces conquered the Tau systems. The Kusari Naval Forces were the first to suffer under the sheer amount of Gallic power, losing most of the Imperial Fleet in the process and essentially forcing Kusari to surrender. The next to experience the Royal invasion were the inhabitants of the Colonial Republic, which had to be evacuated from Tau 44 when it fell under Gallic control.

Soon after establishing a stable presence in the Tau systems the Royal Navy continued its march into Bretonia, conquering the system of Edinburgh and ensuring space domination of Leeds. Years later, all major population centres in Leeds were in the shadow of the mighty Kingdom's flag. The war machine has raged on since then, with heavy skirmishes surfacing in Magellan and Manchester, along with frequent raids of the capital system of Bretonia, in preparation of the inevitable invasion.

While the exhaustion from the war was evident, it was not time to stop. The Gallic Royal Navy stands strong and continues its onslaught of the Houses with unquestionable resolve. With the ever-more-emerging threat of the Council, the Gallic planets were put under direct martial law. The influence and importance of the military was higher than ever before. it had expanded to accompany the recent changes that were put in place by King Charles XI. The Navy underwent restructuration: the primary fleet merged with the secondary, many new organisations and divisions emerged.

The Marine Royale Gauloise is the reformed primary fleet of the Kingdom. It is the sword and shield of Gallia, working in both Gallic territory and the ever-expanding war zones. As before, the ultimate decision maker in of the Royal forces was the Grande Maréchal, whom received orders from the King himself. Many of the commanding positions were delegated to the noble families such as DeFrance and LaRoux, however that did not prevent those of common blood to achieve these positions through great feats and dedication.

The chain of command of the Navy is comparable to that before the reform, however, foreigners are still looked down upon. Climbing in ranks is something that only exceptional people manage to achieve, and this is an incredibly difficult task for those that are not in the spotlight.

Grand Maréchal - The ultimate leader of all aspects military within the Royal Forces, who directly receives orders from the King and follows them through without debate.

Général - A few select nobles and people of great renown; they are often tasked with being in direct control of large sectors or important military operations. They are allowed a great level of independency to accomplish goals given by the Grand Maréchal. One of the most renowned in recent years would be the late Général Joseph DeFrance, the hero of the subjugation of Planet Leeds.

Commandant - In charge of commanding skirmishes, Commandants are usually the central piece of the Gallic fleets. They are expected to be quick in decision-making, tactically aware and ultimately responsible for the success of the Royal Navy in tactical movements and encounters. Due to the responsibility behind this rank, only people of renown are allowed to become Commandants. Many prominent noble figures were granted this role to reflect their position in society within their system.

Capitaine - They are the leaders of strike wings of the Royal Navy. In rare events, they are authorised to assume control over certain aspects of the Navy within the sector should the Commandant require assistance or is not present. This rank is the highest honour available to people who show excellent performance, tactical efficiency and great dedication in skirmishes.

Sous-Lieutenant - The standard snub craft pilot of the Royal Navy, the Sous-Lieutenant is the backbone of most skirmishes. They are expected to excel in combat and participate in frequent training exercise in order to do so. The vast majority of patrols are consisting of personnel of this rank.

The Marine Royale Gauloise follows the diplomacy of the Kingdom. Due to long periods of isolation and propaganda, the populace follows an expansionist ideology. It does not appreciate foreigners, and accordingly, first contact with the Houses has been met with hostility. All the early scouts were attacked and destroyed.

The Kingdom of Bretonia and the Republic of Liberty are in full-scale war with the Kingdom of Gallia. Any ship associated with its agents and collaborators are to be shot on sight. The Republic of Kusari was pacified, and their new government has begun trying to soften their relations by encouraging trade with the Kingdom.

The Marine Royale Gauloise continues to follow the will of the King, seeking to subjugate the Kingdom’s enemies and remove any elements deemed undesirable. It continues working with the Royal Police to ensure peace and stability in the Kingdom.

Long-term goals:
- Continue the war effort: The Kingdom of Bretonia should continue to suffer the onslaught, and the Republic of Liberty must not be allowed to interfere. Leeds has fallen, Edinburgh has fallen, so has Magellan. It’s time for Newcastle and Cortez.

- Ensure stability within the Kingdom: The Council must not be allowed to expand more than it already has. Martial law has been put in place to extinguish the dissent. Rebels and terrorists will continue to be executed, so that the populace may keep in line.

- Continuation of our technological domination: Gallic technology is superior to that of Sirius. We must continue to explore new technological pursuits to maintain this advantage.

Short-term goals:
- Diplomacy: Find allies that share the Kingdom’s viewpoint. It is clear that turning everyone against the King will inevitably backfire.

- Spread propaganda; the Kingdom, and its controlled space, is full of agents that try to disillusion the populace with misinformation. The creation of a news channel that showcases the wrongdoings of the Kingdom’s enemies will hinder the operations of interlopers, and boost our support throughout the Kingdom.

Navires de capitaux

"Valor" Gallic Royal Navy Battleship

Description:

La Valor is the pride of the Roi himself, whenever the thought of a brutal and dominating naval warship comes into mind, the Valor takes the place in all people's heads. This giant wonder weapon is the result of research to develop nothing but the image of Gallic might, nobility and aesthetics. A hull that is almost un-pierceable gives the optimal protection from anything that dares to stand in the Valor's way. The "Warwolf" forward gun is the nightmare of any enemy of the Royal Marine's battleships, nothing bursts hostile targets faster and causes more destruction than this weapon. The Valor truly stands for any aspect Gallia stands for, commanding such a vessel is one of the highest honors within the Marine Royale Gauloise.

"Obstinate" Gallic Royal Navy Cruiser

Description:

The most important backbone of any royal fleet, this ship is the alpha and omega of defense for the royaume. The "Obstinate" is, as its name suggests, persistent in its purpose: Elimination of hostile capital ships. From all cruisers one can encounter, the Obstinate belongs to the heaviest ones, just like the Valor, it performs greatly due to its firepower and defense systems. Where a Valor is not able to keep up due to its size, the Obstinate dominates the battlefield and scarves a way for the Roi's devastating battleships.

"Perilous" Gallic Royal Navy Gunboat

Description:

As great and powerful as the giant warships of the Royal Navy are, there is one threat that they cannot withstand: Hostile bomber squadrons. To ensure that the capital vessels wouldn't be disturbed or even destroyed during a battle from being flanked, the engineers of the Royal Navy built the Bulwark's that we know as Perilous. Those gunboats protect the Royal fleets and drive fear into the hearts of the enemies' fighter squadrons, as all of them are defeated, the "Rafale" forward gun comes into use to aid the already giant firepower of the Royal fleets against their enemies.

XJ-3 "Lynx" Gallic Very Heavy Fighter

Description:

The Lynx is the beloved fist of the Roi amongst his Marines, combining the beautiful aesthetics that all Gallic ships share, together with a strong hull and firepower, the Lynx combines effort in construction, dedication in combat and a death that can only be called beautiful. It has dominated the fields of fighter combat in Gallia for ages and therefore is used by the large majority of royal marines.

XJ-2 "Serval" Gallic Heavy Fighter

Description:

Used by the Royal Police forces at most times, the Royal Navy's quick responsive units are seen using this ship due to its increased speed while still maintaining a certain level of firepower. The Serval provides effective hunting capabilities and is the ideal balance between the firepower of the Lynx and the speed of the Caracal.

XJ-1 "Caracal" Gallic Light Fighter

Description:

The fast interceptors of the Royal Navy, the Caracal is the snappiest ship amongst the fighter classes in Gallia, while it lacks the firepower the Lynx has and the higher core the Serval has, the Caracal concentrates on being a nuisance in combat by being barely hittable and yet able to sting deeply, causing hurting wounds.

Bombardiers

BXJ-5 "Cougar" Gallic Royal Navy Bomber

Description:

Built to do what the Perilous is preventing enemies from doing: Causing massive destruction from the distance or by hitting antimatter cannons. The Cougar is the key for capital advantage by being the fast backstabber that comes into battle to cause its damage and then going out again without leaving a trace. Great hull and speed are what make this ship so deadly for hostile bombers as they are to fear the might of the Cougar.

Navires logistiques

ME-UH "Vache" Gallic Train

Description:

Despite the succesfulness of Gallic shipping companies, sometimes the Royal Navy itself has to use those beasts of transportation to haul highly important cargo to needed places,
in a time where ammunition is sometimes low and things like Oil are running out quickly, the Vache is able to keep the troops supplied even in faraway regions.

"Taureau" Gallic Assault Transport

Description:

The Gallic Armored Transport was designed to carry assault troops or war supplies to the battlefield without the need for a fighter escort and is capable of directly assaulting capital ships and space stations. The Taureau was designed around the chassis of the Perilous GRN gunboat but makes use of a less substantial power core, which freed up considerable space in the interior. It is thus capable of transporting an entire company of Royal Marines along with their battle gear. The favored tactic of a Taureau Marine assault is to blast open the docking bay doors with turret fire, often supported by a Perilous Gunboat, then land in the decompressed docking bay to disembark troops. Due to the ship's heavy armor and defensive capabilities, it is sometimes used as a shuttle for prisoners, high-value cargo, high-ranking military officers, diplomats and even members of the Gallic Royal Court.

MCU-1 "Aurochs" Gallic Freighter

Description:

Being able to slip through tight situations and still carry large amounts of cargo, the Aurochs is perfect to be piloted by a single soldier in times of needed supplies or to supply the population in times needed. It still does not bow to any threats coming along the way, although it was not designed to fight, the Aurochs is good at withstanding fire.

The members of the Royal Navy are personnel that were recruited into the space-borne ranks of the Kingdom of Gallia’s military. As a result of hundreds of years of propaganda while in isolation, they consider the inhabitants of Sirius to be less civilised, inferior in both technology and culture. They are condescending, self-righteous, and very blunt. They are overconfident, often going for the direct approach and, occasionally, underestimating their enemy. The nobles are hardly a unified sort and, once conflicts of interest appear, often end up in disagreements one way or another. The military is dismissive of Sirians, showing disdain to foreigners frequently - however, that did not prevent the more endurable some to join the Navy to fight for them, be that forcefully or not.

The MRG is intended to be successor to the late GRN. The base aspect will still be the same, however we will try to incorporate new changes and additions to prevent it from falling stagnant.

We will remain very open to new players and veterans both. This will hopefully bring new opportunities to players who wish to play, try out GRN, or just end up roleplaying among us. We’re here to try to make playing the antagonist fun, or at the very least, make it more in depth than just occasional war zone fights. We plan to introduce political power struggles, more prominent nobility and conflict of interests into play - ideally, the environment should be dynamic, interesting and ever-progressing.

We hope to incorporate the Council and other factions and arrange events with them. If you're willing to do something with us, feel free to approach us!

Dont you have to wait 6 months after the last failed attempt before trying again?

Money taken. Good Luck.
Well, the 2 month deadline is fast approaching. It would be nice to get some feedback.

How do you think we're doing?
Since you asked so nicely. I've heard only good things about the MRG, and out of all my interactions with them, I'm hard pressed to name one that I didn't find enjoyable. Granted I haven't been able to log to raid and get raided recently, but I doubt the quality presented by you all has dipped in recent weeks, and can only say I'm sure you'll keep the standard going. c:
