I Introduction
Discovery RimworldLancer is an ongoing series, usually conducted as daily or bi-daily livestreams at around 20:00 UTC, hosted on My Youtube Channel as 30-40 minute sessions featuring the game RimWorld and involving the adventures of our community members.
Previously the members would be formed out of a signup list and introduced into the game by re-naming new characters as they are added to the colony. There are currently at least three different adventures recorded and involve memorable pawns such as
II Changes
This month we are going to embark on a completely new version of RimWorld and with new goodies that will guarantee that players who have submitted their names to the list will be more easily entertained. And to top it all off - we are going to mod the CARP out of it.

These mods, as mentioned before, will not only add a new level of customization and uniqueness to the ingame characters, but also will allow us to work on set goals. One of the more glaring issues with the previous series was that we were stuck on the same map and surviving . This is easy enough to do, but now with the mods and new versions, we will have a set of goals we can follow and always strive for. Apart from trying to survive, that is.
III Participation
If you would like to participate in this series, you must post in this thread and provide a name for your discovery RP character. The character names will be divided into two sets - one for male colonists and one for females. They will be used in a randomized order and will be added whenever we recruit a new colonist. Stick around and see the troubles your peep is going to get into - and whether or not they become a legend.
Remember to also note the sex of your character.
IV Beginnings and Short Term Goals
The first episode will be recorded offline and will cover the setup phase of our embark. During this time we will generate a new map and pick a randomized starting position. After that - we will choose a destination spot where our crew will need to, over time, migrate to. One of the mods we use also unlocks the use of atomic energy, a very hard and expensive process for which we will never obtain enough resources from one map grid. We will need to obtain enough settlers to break off and strip-mine the surroundings and/or raid villages.
The new version of Rimworld also adds dynamic missions for/against existing factions, all of which will come in handy to achieve this.
The mod selection and goals will provide us with a rather instatable need for credits/silver. We will need to decide on the source of income, be it growing food, producing drugs - the good kind or bad, or deal with slavery and organ harvesting. Or a bit of everything!
The players who are participating in the game will have their suggestions for this taken into account more.
The series will begin this weekend or until we have a minimum of 6 settlers ready and named.
You can also suggest your own thoughts as to what other challenges we should take on.
