So as I mentioned in some other thread I was playing some Civilization 5 recently and I made a single player game with some Discovery factions. We're playing on the King (5) difficulty and quick speed.

The current civ list is as follows:

CivLeaderStatus
Custodi (Greece)Icarus-
Outcasts (Spain)MartelliDestroyed
Liberty (America)James Powell-
The Core (Rome)Erik Nodtviet-
Bretonia (England)Carina-
Kusari (Japan)Jien Kogen-
Rheinland (Germany)Niemann-
Gallia (France)Charles IX-

This is the setup screen.

Starting location seems pretty neat.

Initial scouting, we seem to have discovered a few barbarians and two city states. Also an okay coastal expansion spot on the far left with a natural wonder.

Finished my first wonder in the meantime.

Going Tradition as the continent we've spawned on doesn't have more than 4 good city locations and I'm not intending to go colonial.

Emergency city founding because barbs killed my scout that was escorting the settler.

Oh hello.

Hello as well.

Founded my third city, really good river expansion spot with cotton .

In the meantime Kusari found us and established an embassy.

After building some units it's time to get a real disco repsheet going.

End of the first session. Barcelona has been captured and razed, Madrid was captured and turned into a puppet city. We will be struggling with unhappiness until I can build a courthouse and make use of its luxuries.

You should make a Mephistoles civilisation. It'd really add to the quality of your game. <):¬)
Barbarians are basically GMG. Annoying and nobody likes them

))))
Session 2, let's go.

Shortly after the capture of Madrid we've been offered a rather trash proposal from the Outcasts.

Meanwhile we also got enough faith to found a religion. The name is, of course, quite predictable (Brussels wants Cyber).

Last few turns of the Outcast civ existing. I decided not to raze Seville because of a rather beneficial placement of their city (two luxuries nearby, coastal and mountains). Later it will become home to Maccu Picchu.

Martelli admitting defeat to the great general Icarus.

Great Custodi engineer Ben Franklin. /shrug

Sending a few units to explore the continent with Kusari. We find a city state...

And a bit later Gallia.

We do have the most wonders. Most of the good ones we managed to rush (Great Library, Temple of Artemis, Alhambra, Great Wall, Maccu Picchu, Leaning Tower of Pisa), however several were stolen by the AI (namely the Hanging Gardens, Petra, Colossus and Notre Dame).

We explored a bit more of the Kusari & Gallia continent.

We built Maccu Picchu, which is an extremely important wonder considering we are Greece and thus aiming for a diplomatic victory (and as such we need loadsamone). I feel this is mostly because Liberty (who are a bit angry at me for warmongering) didn't have any mountains near them.

Last thing we do in this session is discover Rheinland in the east.

Currently our empire consists of five cities, four are above 10 pop and two - above 20 pop. Sparta is larger than my capital :<. Heraklion appropriately has a lot of wheat around. Overall seems like we have a good game on our hands.

Welcome to session number 3, most likely the second to last one.

We start this one off by having one of our scouts meet Bretonia.

We also establish an embassy in London.

Shortly after we meet the final undiscovered civ - The Core.

We also get an embassy.

What a stellar diplomacy sheet.

Kiev desires Cyber

The first research this session is Industrialisation which allows us to build factories. When we build three of them, we have the ability to choose an ideology. As a primarily diplomatic civ, I went for Freedom because a) it gives a lot of happiness from Capitalism (all gold buildings give 1 additional happiness) b) gives a lot of science from my 7 Academies through New Deal c) free city-state influence from Treaty Organisation d) Statue of Liberty is amazing. I chose Capitalism and Avant Garde as my first tenets, but then abandoned the ideology tree as I needed to finish out Commerce (because of the extremely powerful Protectionism, after getting it my happiness went from -1 to 19).

I was considering Autocracy, mostly because of the very powerful Gunboat Diplomacy tenet, but decided against it because of the fact that I needed to get other social policies and also most of the city-states that I have on my continent are already my allies at like 250 influence.

We've started getting into a bit of a border dispute with Powell as Liberty has quite a bit of stuff that I'd like. I stationed quite a lot of my units on the border with Liberty and then used the Citadel to steal two banana tiles from them. Unfortunately the Citadel didn't reach far enough to grab the Citrus as well, and I am slightly afraid to expend my second Great General for this as the diplomacy between me and Powell is quite tense. Additonally, he is very friendly with Rheinland so any war declaration on their part might be very hard for me to get through.

Meanwhile Bismarck Niemann is converting Sparta to buddhism /shrug

Sparta has switched religions at least 5 times this session.

I found a really neat late-game expansion spot. While settling new cities so late is not very beneficial, this one has a luxury, two city states and a lot of good resources. I made a Settler and sent him there.

In the third-to-last turn of this session we got a Great Scientist and discovered the final tech in the Modern Era. With the scientist I started going for the Hubble trick which allows us to progress through to the Information Era in just three techs (Radar → Rocketry → Satellites), build the Hubble Space Telescope with a Great Engineer (which will spawn in Athens in two turns) and get two fresh Great Scientists from the construction of Hubble to pick whichever techs in the Atomic Era we will need. I am considering getting nukes and throwing them at Liberty just for the heck of it but we'll see.
