Hello, peeps and peep-ettes.

After a month of careful consideration, it is time to reveal the quasi-faction-right that is the Official Faction Billboards/Advertisments.
The goal of these two items is to promote the faction that has pruchased them, be it their operations, propaganda, recruitment, ore or item selling and other. This right is not strictly speaking a right, but a chance to obtain one of the five slots for either the billboards or advertisment messages if they choose to invest the necessary amount of credits in it.

Electronic billboards are messages that are displayed in a specific system every time a player undocks from a solar or jumps in via jumpgate or jumphole. These messages can be placed in any system that is within the faction's ZOI. There are, however, a list of systems in which these billboards cannot be placed and they are as such:
There are currently no limitations on how long the message can be, but it should be kept within reason and short enough for players with smaller screens not to be hit by a paragraph of text.

Faction Advertisements on the other hand are messages similar to the billboards explained above, however rotate along with the rest of the tips and server messages, thus are seen by all players on the server. The same rule regarding post length applies to this type of message.

Apart from the specific rules described above, there are a few other things to keep in mind:
*The messages should be written as in-roleplay.
*The messages should be productive and not used to troll/grief another group. Outcasts putting a rude message in Gamma would be one such example.
*There are currently 5 open slots for Billboards and 5 open slots for Advertisments.
*At the start of each month, a dedicated thread will be posted in the Faction Leaders Section where the OFLs will bid in order to obtain one or multiple of these slots. The amount of credits for an auto-buyout will be decided on.
*Official factions may bid in the name of an unofficial faction that is on a tracker, as long as said faction is friendly/allied to their ID.
*The messages will last for exactly one month and will be replaced once the next set of bids are processed.
*The administration team retain the right to edit or return the provided message back to the OFL for editing if it does not meet our standards. If the edits are not satisfactory, the OFL will be refunded and their place will be given to the second highest bid.

The respective threads in the OFL section will be made within the next day or so as we finalize the details.
Since this is a new feature, things may be changed as we hammer out the specifics.
Neat.
I have a request for this and this is to add a specific set of characters that appear in every one of these messages (much like oorp messages all are supposed to contain the "//") so that they can be later filtered out of logs.
They will be prefixed.
Neat.
What about faction messages when docking on their stations? That would be awesome and neat too.

It's pretty cool how one good thing after another is getting added. Major Kudos to all people involved in this!
I've always wondered if advertisement billboards would be a thing someday... Well, here they are! I can see the Sunbucks ads now... Immersion deepens!
Does the "5 open slots for Billboards" part mean five slots per available system, five slots per region or five slots overall? Note that these aren't as global as Faction Advertisements are.
