The Freelancer ID Reads as follows

Quote:Freelancers are people not affiliated with any faction in particular. They generally operate independent trade ships or small ships. They sometimes act as mercenaries, but mostly just explore Sirius, taking the odd job here or there to pay for fuel and supplies.
Pilot carrying this quasi-lawful ID is a Freelancer, who:
Can attack any ship in self-defense or to protect an friendly or allied ship.
Can fulfill any bounty and escort contracts, and may treat transports as combat targets when executing a bounty or escort contract against them.
Cannot use any transports with more than 3,600 cargo, except for the Pirate Train.
Cannot participate in unlawful actions except as described above.
Allowed ships: Fighters, Freighters, Transports, Gunboats

I would like to suggest that the Freelancer ID be modified to read "...Cannot use any transports with more than 3,600 cargo, except for the Pirate Train, and L'ane Transport..."

I like this idea much better.

I would use the L'Ane in a heartbeat (with factional blessing, of course) if only it didn't have the giant damn neon purple fleur on the side.

That Fluer is the best part y'all Deva leave it Alone <_< Tongue

Now my two cents:

The problem I have with opening it up to Freelancers is that it isn't illegal almost everywhere, which the Ptrain is. This is the balancing factor with the increased cargo. Now, If this was way back in the day where the Pilgrim was the Slave Liner and banned across Sirius this would be a different story. As the Junker Congress leader, I have a serious problem with nerfing one of the few 4.3k transports Junkers get that isn't illegal anywhere in Sirius. While yes I support the freelancer ID getting more variety in transports I want it done well, open up the Gallic Civilian lines to them at 100% and maybe drop the Corsairs Train to 4.3k and allow them to use it with permission (or none and let the chaos ensue.)

Also I still firmly believe that the I'lane should be Sirius unlawful or something like that.

Splitting the thread so I can continue my crusade for the Pilgrim Liner
Really?

Yes, you see in the other thread members of the community are reasonably discussing things, rather than one word replies, that discussion lead to talk about the L'Ane, now given that I prefer the Pilgrim Liner over the L'ane but I didn't want the discussion to get deleted due to its association with my crusade for the Pilgrim Liner I made this thread instead
The L'ane is one of the few treats the Brigands have and currently only those who have a gallic unlawful ID (Council, UC or Brigands) can use it. I'll just go ahead and say I am not a fan of this proposed change. Also to point out, it is currently under the techcell for generic gallic unlawful, it is just the ID that stops it from being used - and that is exactly how it should be.
The L'ane is a Brigand Transport. Not a transport open to Freelancers. That was not the intention of it.
It's the same as me saying that I want the corsair train to be open for freelancer use.
What about we remove Pirate Train from Freelancer ID instead?

I like this idea.

This isn't a flood thread. Keep things productive.

I also like this idea. Use junker ID or pirate ID to use a PIRATE transport. Freelancers should use small to medium ships. They are freelancers after all, I doubt they would have the resources to maintain or even procure such ship.

But why? Ptrain is... bad.

Did you know House criminals can fly House 4.3kers? Yeah. They're not exactly hurting for options.

Also, LOOK at the Ptrain. Three cargo pods with sheet metal stapled over them, seven turret hardpoints slapped on as an afterthought. That sounds fairly... easy and non-resource-intensive to assemble. Almost as though they could be made to order for private buyers.
