My ping might start off low at around 46ms, but then shoots up to 600ms at worse. Can anyone give me any pointers to try and remedy this? My connection is fine in other multiplayer games.
Where do you live?
The UK.
Is there anything that uses bandwidth for a short while, while you play?

I've noticed when that the server doesnt "forget" if your connection was crappy for a short while because you were browsing the internet or something. The connection to the server stays crappy even after you stopped browsing/downloading, until you log off and back on.

This seems to be a particularity to the discovery and certain ISPs, as it only happens for me with discovery and my old crappy ISP.
Also do you use static or Dynamic IP ?

I'm guessing here it might have something to do with your port forwarding.

Maybe you need to open up a port to freelancer to get a stable connection. :2322 if i'm not mistaken
Doing further tests, this only seems to happen depending on how my net feels. I swapped to mobile data to try and fix the issue but the same problems were (albeit not as bad though).

Looking around, it seems like more an more people are getting this issue.
