I used to be a Moderator before on couple of forums, mostly the ones related to Counter Strike, so I had to deal with lots of spam threads and stuff. I have time, that is not a problem, I know generally what am I supposed to do, so basically you just have to be precise of what is expected of me. Have no great roles in factions, so I think I am fit for it. If anyone disagrees I'm fine with it as long as there is a proper reason behind it. Kind regards.

would be a good pick, is a very nice guy, always willing to help, would be a great addition and considerable help too
I'd like to volunteer myself aswell!

Why?

My reasons for applying to this are simple. I'd like an friendly and stress-free community.
As it's still hard to achieve, deep inside i believe my everyday forumlancing and lurking on the forums could make a difference.
My opinions on other people aren't biased, as i don't take sides to anyone's favour in this community.
I've been part of this community long enough to grow a thick skin of the arrogant behavior and judge others opinions from a neutral perspective.
All in all, i believe in goodness which this community as a family, could grow together, to a positive, stress-free family.

As i don't really have a job, i'm mostly free on workdays from Monday to Friday, being active both on forums and ingame.
But as i still have to earn income as a musician on weekends, then most of the weekends i'm off the forums, but even then i still find time to lurk around the forums with my smartphone.

To sum it all up, i'm committed, active and unbiased.
What does a moderator do precisely?

They keep people from spamming furry porn and get to lock threads when their friends need someone silenced.

I think they also get to comment on rule violation reports and SRPs.

I'm guessing that being forced to read cringy RP stories is what's driving them away in droves.

Ah yeah. So this doesn't "influence" the "ingame environment"...
Not entirely.
In my mind, Moderators... Moderate. They simmer arguments down when things get hot. They offer opinions on things here and there; offer to answer what questions they can; try to help with little things; maybe give an objective opinion to an admin seeking one; make sure things stay appropriate. I'm of an older-school mindset that certain things of a suggestive nature should not be posted on the forums. There is a no-adult-content rule, after all. Why push the boundary of that?

Probably, it's a mindset that won't make me favored among some people, but there it is. A joke here and there is okay, within reason, but shouldn't be the norm. If folks want to do that sort of thing in-game or discord in private chat channels, I am completely fine with that; everyone should play what makes them happy. But I believe that certain things should stay private, while other topics are A-OK in the public eye. I'm trying to think of what a newbie to Discovery would think if they saw something lewd. If they end up leaving before giving Disco a chance all because of a post they saw, then we just lost a potential player, perhaps even more, if they were scouting on behalf of friends. We can't afford that these days.

I'm just putting that out there. I'd rather people know this about me now rather than later. If it's a mindset that's not desired... Well, I guess I'd do my best to just look past stuff like that.
I'd volunteer myself, but I'm not active enough in the community for it to be worthwhile.

Besides, I'm only able to be near a computer for an hour at most for most of the week at present.

Essentially I used to be one of the admins on the old UK server when it was run by Josh - and I was picked due to being one of the most active and level-headed members at the time.

Perhaps when I've got a job more local to wherre I am - and on reasonable hours - I might volunteer myself in the future, but I would have to be more active first.
I would like to volunteer as a moderator.

I am constantly checking the forums even without being a moderator. I don't get angry easily or hold grudges when I do. I am decent at proofreading as well as reading in between the lines. I have been active for over a year and have seen a lot go on in the disco universe. I would like to offer my assistance with helping to keep disco running. In my personal opinion the forums are probably one of the most important parts of disco. And while the actual game requires many hours of maintenance it is mostly solemn work where as the forums you are talking directly with people. I am currently a security guard and have much practice in verbal judo which helps when dealing with hot tempers and people speaking without thinking.

Any other questions you might have I would be happy to answer.

Besides what I have written above I am not sure what else you are looking for so feel free to pm me.
