Deep Space Solutions


A Brief History:

Overview


Formed in the dawn of Libertonian life in Sirius, Deep Space Engineering has held a central position of infrastructural development in the sector. The ongoing project of building and maintaining the physical gate/lane network has always been the primary directive of DSE, but it has lead to the emergence of several secondary roles; exploration, mineral extraction and processing, and ship construction also adorn the corporate profile. DSE is fundamental to the influential position of Liberty in Sirius today.
Ageira, Universal Shipping, and Deep Space Engineering share a threefold partnership - that is, Ageira creates the Jumpgate and Tradelane parts, Universal ships them to the DSE sites, and DSE places the parts into the rest of the Jumpgate or Tradelane machinery that they have constructed. This is how it has been done for centuries, and it has led to the growth and prospering of all companies involved. They are the architects of Sirius, linking the colonies together with Jumpgates and Tradelanes. Without their watchful eyes over the Jumpgate and Tradelane the system, Sirius would fall apart and the ease of travel and communication we take for granted would no longer exist.
Deep Space Engineering has recently ventured into 'the unknown' of the business world, putting together project Dallas - A large clean up effort in Texas after the hyper-gate incident; hoping to reduce the amount of radioactive material in space with the ultimate goal of making the system habitable once again. They are working closely with the Junkers to achieve this goal, using a mobile refinery and a selection of Combat service Freighters.

History


51 A.S. - Deep Space Engineering is formed from several Manhattan construction companies.
51 A.S. - Deep Space Engineering is awarded a contract to build the Baltimore Shipyards.
58 A.S. - Deep Space Engineering completes the Baltimore Shipyards and begins building larger ships using the Ageira engines for colonization.
65 A.S. - Deep Space Engineering establishes a Boron processing plant on Planet Houston, thus colonizing it.
126 A.S. - Deep Space Engineering is awarded the contract to build a research facility in the Texas system for Ageira Technologies company.
128 A.S. - Deep Space Engineering completes construction of the Dallas, an enormous research and manufacturing facility in the Texas system.
142 A.S. - Deep Space Engineering is awarded the contract to purify the water on Planet Los Angeles, so turning Planet L.A. into the food basket of Liberty. This is done by bombarding the planet with Ice Asteroids. Bombardment begins three years later.
180 A.S. - The full scale jump gate test is a success. DSE and Ageira go into a partnership to mass produce them can start within five years.
185 A.S. - Universal Shipping is awarded the shipping contract to move jump gate parts from Ageira to the construction sites where DSE assembles them.
189 A.S. - The first Jump Gates were constructed by DSE, in partnership with Ageira Technologies, linking the New York and Colorado systems.
202 A.S. - Jump gate linking New York and Texas are completed.
207 A.S. - Jump gate from New York to California is opened.
218 A.S. - Ageira and DSE form a partnership and fund a new company to stimulate jump gate construction in other Houses. This new company is named Interspace Commerce.
300 A.S. - Ageira Technologies unveils the trade lane engine. DSE starts building trade lanes throughout Liberty Space.
500 A.S. - The Texas Incident occurs.
817.A.S - Because of the mysterious disappearance of that time DSE president Lars Johansen, a very successful Johnny Flow takes over. He takes the DSE company to great heights. Him and his wife Bess enjoy great success creating contracts and making connections

It is not long before the DSE success is noticed through all of Sirius, even the unwanted parties like: Rouges and Outcasts who only benefit at someone else’s expense. It was only a matter of time before someone meddles in there affairs and tries to ruin a great Flow family…..

1) Demise of Bess Flow


Years have passed and it looked like the Flow’s would enjoy there great creation for the following future to come. However, one Sunday morning Bess Flow's convoy was attacked by Liberty rogues, there escort was destroyed and Bess found herself negotiating for the lives of her crew. All might have gone well if a sudden misfire of a drunken rogue pilot didn’t break all hell loose. Co president Bess Flow took this as a sign of an attack and only thing she could do now is fight for the lives of her crew. Of course the DSE freighter was greatly outnumbered and outgunned, which led to destruction of the ship in a few moments. The majority of the crew however wasn’t killed and there escape pods were left floating in space until they were picked up by Liberty Security Force a few hours later. Bess Flow was seriously injured and transferred to Planet Manhattan’s best hospital. Unfortunately after a 4 hours operation Bess Flow died. President Johnny Flow was furious and in conjunction with Liberty Government he managed to organize a hunting posy, which after a few days, ended with apprehension of many rogue members and there collaborators. Although justice was somewhat satisfied, President Flow found no peace for a long time

2) New age for DSE


After some time has passed, President Flow managed to overcome the grief and continued creating contracts and opportunities for his workers. He even started recruiting new workers that would eventually expand business to great extent. New heads of departments replaced the old ones and Copper Ore business was flourishing. The Lansing Logistical Hub station received new facilities and upgrades. The station was to be a new pride of President Flow as it grew and expanded at the most envious rate. The workers were well compensated for the Copper Ore mining, which was Lansing Logistical Hub’s primary role. Kansas system, where the base was located, soon became the center of trade and many companies visited, some to do business and some to relax on Lansig bars and companies other services.
On the other hand, this also raised the interest of other unlawful parties throughout the Sirius sector, mainly a group of Outcasts called: The Commune

3) What goes up, must come down - The fall


It was a time of need for DSE, a need for more work power, since the business was growing really fast. One particular worker was pushing through hours of grinding Copper ore and got noticed by the company office. It was a 30 year old DHC child, named Dan Gunsmith, who once lived in Rheinland space. His parents were killed by an unknown assailant and he was saved by a young Red Hessian family. Being raised by the Hessians all he knew was war and combat. Patrolling the Dresden system one day he was shot down by a Rheinland officer of law. Barely alive and drifting in space, his life pod capsule was picked up by DSE convoy. Brought to the hospital and back from the brink of death he had a sense of duty to give something back.
Soon he started on the path of a company worker and was so eager to learn that he was given an advancement in a short period of time. By the time he had a Security chief rank, President Flow himself took an interest in this young and blunt man . Months have passed and Mr. Gunsmith showed true potential, as he was on the path of becoming President Flow's right arm. It was in the time of Lansing’s flourishing and also increasing pirate activity caused by the flowing and growing DSE business.
Then….
The Commune came, out of the Omicron systems they poured in to Liberty space, taxing all the great companies and making demands on cargo, profit and even people. There numbers were vast and there strike force immense. The DSE decided to resist the oppressors in conjunction with Liberty defense forces and the war broke out. Many months have passed before the Commune finally become aware of the Lansig base importance and they decided to strike at the very heart of DSE. DSE intelligence sector knew something is about to happen in the very near future, so they gathered defense forces and made a perimeter in the Kansas system. It consisted of the Comonswealth forces as well as Auxilia Coalition along with Liberty Navy and Liberty Police Inc.
When the Commune finally came, a massive battle broke out with great body count on all sides.

Unfortunately, the Commune managed to defeat the defending forces and utterly destroyed the Lansig Logistical Hub base.
It was a sad day for whole Liberty, especially for Deep Space Engineering

4) Picking up the pieces


What came next, can only be explained as disarray. People were devastated and unsure of there future. All of DSE high ranking officials were unable to provide any sort of comfort for the grieving people of Liberty. And to make matters worse, President Flow was stricken with an odd disease and decided to leave the company in the hands of his, then second in command Mr. Dan Gunsmith, who found the note on his desk three mornings after Lansig destruction. President Flow informed him about his illness and left the company in Mr. Gunsmiths capable hands, And disappeared
Mr. Gunsmith then started to gather up the grieving DSE folk, talking to their families and making plans for the “ resurrection ” of their normal usual lives. Communications were made towards the Comonswealth people who helped in the futile Lansig defense, and officials from both sides sat around the table to talk about DSE future. Finally, after many hours of conversing, the Comonswealth people agreed to help out DSE folk once more and allowed them a sanctuary within Hellfire Legion home system – Vespucci. Meanwhile DSE transports were working around the clock, salvaging what could be saved from, now ruined Lansig base.
After the salvage operation DSE started a great moving operation to their new home – Vespucci system.

5) A glimpse of light - Elysium


At the arrival of DSE work force, the Comonswealth people welcomed them with open arms because they understood what it means to be oppressed. A cargo pod after cargo pod filled with materials was brought to Vespucci, followed by a dozen construction platforms, as DSE was set on reviving the hopes of the workers. All they wanted was an honest days work and the people of Comonswealth made it possible for them, introducing them to the rich Silver asteroid field.

The construction platforms were set for operation, all was prepared and with much effort from engineers and workers, Elysium was born. A new hope for DSE. Weeks have passed and the sweat payed off.
Immediately after finalization, workers resumed their business of ore mining, only this time they mined Silver ore, which is to be there new “ gold “. Weeks have passed and contracts were resumed, some new ones were made and the DSE presence had an unexpected turn of events for the two parties that were on a verge of war. The Crayter republic and Hellfire Legion.
Those two sides have not been on good terms for many years and lately it looked like a war could brake out between them.
But an unexpected presence of DSE managed to change that and even have the two parties make communication to one another. They agreed on piece talk and to no little surprise, it yielded promising results.
As CR made a contract with DSE about buying there ore, the Hellfire Legion allowed Crayterian trading division entrance to Vespucci system, but with no firepower escort, in order for them to be able to deal with DSE. It was a first step towards neutrality from the both sides.

6) The corruption - A strange man


While DSE was strengthening their position in the Vespucci system the most unexpected thing happened with no announcement whatsoever. Mr. Flow, the former DSE president, returned from his trip to Omicron systems. It turns out he went there in search of a doctor X, allegedly the only person in the Sirius sector who could have dealt with unknown illnesses, like the one Mr. Flow was stricken with.
When Mr. Flow returned, all welcomed him with open arms and there was a party in his name, taking place in the Metro Bar on a new DSE station – Elysium. Everyone cheered in unity as Mr. Flow seemed totally cured from an unknown illness that once bestowed him. A few days after the party has ended, the time has come for Mr. Flow to assume command of his company. It is known that Mr. Flow and, at that time, acting President Gunsmith, sat in a room together discussing Mr. Flow's returneth. They spent many hours behind closed doors and when they finally completed, Mr. Gunsmith left the office with a dire feeling in his heart.
Days after it things looked like they were back to the way it was before Mr. Flow's leaving. But workers whispers were heard across the company, slowly but steadily. Mr. Flow was allegedly somehow different since his trip to the Omicrons.
There was never any solid proof to support the workers and Mr. Gunsmiths claims, but somehow, most of the DSE felt like there was a dark cloud engulfing President Flow, whom they once loved and respected.
It is like he was Mr. Flow but wasn’t at the same time, being more abrupt and more ruthless in his conversing with other DSE officials and workers too. Something was changed they were sure of it, but couldn’t quite figure out what.
Then one day Mr. Gunsmith and President Flow had a fierce argument about what should be their next course of action concerning DSE. There was yelling through the hallways of the offices and both walked away furious at one another.
Deep in his heart Mr. Gunsmith then knew, that once his mentor and friend, President Flow would never be the same person he once was. And Gunsmith couldn’t take it anymore. It was time for a move he never thought possible.

7) Separation - A birth of a new family


824 AD.
President Flow enters his office and finds a holo note, informing him that he is no longer fit for command in the eyes of the workers and senior officers. He also finds out that its Mr.Gunsmith’s doing. All the contracts have been halted by Mr. Gunsmith and there is not a single worker on the job, Mr. Flow becomes aware he has a rebellion on his hands and that 90% of the staff took Gunsmiths side
President Flow automatically tries to fire all the rebels but he is unable to contact the offices and finds out that security protocols have been deactivated, shorty after also becoming aware that all the ships, materials and equipment have been moved to a secure location in Vespucci system.

President Flow's realization of his position forces him to contact the Liberty Government and take the matter under their watchful eyes. The Government is furious of course and calls an immediate Priority one meeting to which, both Mr. Gunsmith and President Flow, are advised to attend. The meeting than takes place in a secret location in Liberty space and all the grand Liberty office representatives are present.

The meeting then takes away hours and days of endless paperwork, tons of holo imaging, with long pauses between sit downs. Both Mr. Gunsmith and President Flow are scanned and submitted to the most sophisticated lie detectors as they present their side of the story. There is a 7 day silence after that. The Liberty Government then reaches a unanimous decision and presents it to both rivaling parties:

“ Because of the way this matter was forced under Liberty Government’s eye, the rebelling works have to separate and make their own company, while keeping all the assets and contracts they made during Mr.Flow's absence. Because Mr. Flow vanished without a trace for a period of 3 weeks he decides not to pursuit the workers legaly, but they are no longer elligable to work in the current DSE. Rebelling workers are also advised to change their ships identification codes within a one week period “

This Liberty Government decision forces Mr. Gunsmith to create a new company called Deep Space Mining with headquarters on Elysium station. All of the assets, ships and equipment are transferred there as well and the workers are finally satisfied, their new and bright future is about to begin………

8) Time of great changes


In the fall of year 824, a group of executives and high ranking officers sat down in the Elysium's briefing room. They spoke of great many deeds and remarkable DSM's progress. The DSM workers kept things running with Silver Ore, they made deliveries to and from distant places of Sirius, and furthermore started producing Cloak Disruptors with great precision and dedication.
Executives took notice of DSM's expansion and wellcomed it quite well, but there was one thing in the way.

In the beginning the goal was to be mining experts and no one anticipated company's growth to where it is now, and since workers do a much variety of work than just mining and transporting a need for a new future arose. There was a need for the company to evolve in to something bigger, something that would explain their new goal and purpose.

They realized, if progress is something they wellcome with open arms, a change was to be made. A change that would let the whole of Sirius know, that DSM represents more than simple mining. So after an hour long discussion, executives reached a conclusion.

The old company name has to go and the company, from this moment on, was to become - DEEP SPACE SOLUTIONS.
Many new interesting adventures were about to come......

- Can attack any ship in self-defense or to protect a friendly or allied ship., or in defense of a base of the same affiliation, both within and outside of its Zone Of Influence

- Can fulfill escort contracts both within and outside of its Zone Of Influence.

Do you have intentions to shape DSE as NPC faction should you become official?
I, actually, wish you to RP something else, except shipping materials or keeping your POB alive, like you do now. I would expect something like Cold Lake from DSE- faction, attempting to get an officialdom.
Also, as for me, some of your ID lines are senseless, like:

First of all, these two lines don't fit each other.
Secondly, you are an industrial corporation, why do you need to have an opportunity to engage in pirace? Do you have any RP behind it? It sounds like powergaming. Please, remove.
Also, I'm a bit confused by your goals. TLDR it's "Mine ore and deliver materials". You don't look like a faction with interesting RP opportunities at all.
And, finally, you could use someone help with graphics and BB-codes, because, well, it isn't a good example of design.
At least, you are pretty active, but that's not enough.
I don't want to see the officialdom of this faction for now. Probably, I will change my opinion, if something changes.

1st. we are not only shiping materials or only keeping our base alive. We construct Cloaking Devices, explore space with an Explorer ship and we also do repairs for the others with our Repair Drones.
2nd. FYI the cold lake project is being, or at least tried to be done and pushed for 2 years now?? so much for trying. DSE has 2 members and one of them is only interested in attacking anyone it sees. Dont get me wrong i wish all the best for DSE, but face it, its a long dead faction.

Can attack Lane Hackers anywhere.
Can engage in piracy against corporations affiliated with houses at war with Liberty anywhere.

So this is it, if you see a fault, maybe you should talk to the devs and admins, so the can correct this mistake as you see it. Where is the RP for piracy for DSE generic ID??

Also you ask where is the RP behind us being able to ally with Hellfire Legion??? Maybe you should reed the links i posted bellow, you will find more than enough RP supported.
4th. As for the BB code and graphical choices i made for the request, beauty is in the eye of the beholder my friend. Someones liking is another man's dislike. Im sorry you dont like it but thats the way it is.

5th. If you dont see us as an interesting faction to RP with, this is also your loss, im sure we shall find many others that are actually interestaed in RPing with us.

6th. Im also sorry you dont like the story, but this also differs from person to person as i have been contacted by people praising my story, and its also true(RP wise).
Dots at the end of paragaphs??? if you dont know, let me help you out a bit.
Dots mean a time overlap, a jump with a story where a reader may use his imagination to finalize as he sees fitting. Also it represents an unfinished chapter of something that is about top begin. It is a legitimate thing used in many SF books and Adventure novels.
Writters use it to make a point, where something unknown lingers........

First of all, these two lines don't fit each other.
Secondly, you are an industrial corporation, why do you need to have an opportunity to engage in pirace? Do you have any RP behind it? It sounds like powergaming. Please, remove.
Also, I'm a bit confused by your goals. TLDR it's "Mine ore and deliver materials". You don't look like a faction with interesting RP opportunities at all.
And, finally, you could use someone help with graphics and BB-codes, because, well, it isn't a good example of design.
At least, you are pretty active, but that's not enough.
I don't want to see the officialdom of this faction for now. Probably, I will change my opinion, if something changes.

I asked nothing about you and HF. Then the whole DSE ID seems to be senseless and op for me. You produce cloaks and CD's without any R&D RP behind it, anyway. Also I haven't seen any of your repair drones in game, the same goes for research ships.
Also, Cold Lake was an interesring R&D RP project, which was suitable for DSE. I doubt, that you can offer something similar. I wasn't talking about DSE).
About design, you can ask someone else or take a look at other factions. But if you don't want to see the truth, npnp.
I doubt, that there are a lot of people, who does, being honest, as everything, you can offer, it's rpless cloaks, ore and shipping materials. Not a big loss, really.
Also, as I've said, it's only me about the story. (Most users even didn't read it, though.)
And the last point. There is "...", not "....................". It's looks more, than ugly, tbh.
