TLAGSNET Tutorial

Disclaimer: The information gathered by TLAGSNET should be considered ooRP, so scanning a target does not grant your character the knowledge of said transport or it contents. This means you cannot, for example, levy fines to ships you have never even encountered.

What is TLAGSNET?

TLAGSNET stands for the Trade Lane And Gate Sensor Network. It allows a Police Pilot to keep tabs on almost everything that's going on in their respective house. All you need is a house's respective Police ID(LPI, BPA, KSP, RFP, GRP), none of that IFF garbage.

How to use TLAGSNET:

You'll have access to the following command:

/net [all, jumponly, off]

/net all: This activates TLAGSNET to it's fullest degree! You'll have complete and real-time access to ALL Trade Lane, and Jump Gate usage in your house.

/net jumponly: This tells TLAGSNET that you only want information on Jump-gate Usage. This disables Trade Lane Monitoring. While this does reduce clutter, pinpointing a target will be much harder as a result.

/net off: This turns off TLAGSNET.

Practical Applications of TLAGSNET:

If the Military or Intelligence forces need help tracking down a criminal, you can pinpoint said criminal if they are using Trade Lanes or Jump Gates, even down to the entry and exit points of both. You can also use it to scan cargo, which is VERY useful for tracking down smugglers.

TLAGSNET does not cover Jump Hole usage, nor can it be used outside of its zone. This means that any Trade Lanes or Jump Gates in the Independent and Border Worlds cannot be scanned, as well.

TLAGSNET Addon: The Remote Scanning Tool (RST):

The RST allows a Police Officer to scan another ship, without even having to be in the same system! Of course, the ship has to be within range of your TLAGSNET.

Just type /showscan [Name] and you'll be able to get a full reading on their cargo, weapons, armour, shields, basically everything.

This only requires that the target be within the TLAGSNET range, not even the same system! This is incredibly useful for hunting down enemy targets or gathering intel on possible threats.

If you notice, when you receive a Trade Lane Usage or Jump Gate Usage report, there is a number after their name. For example, LPI-John.Brown[$108]. Instead of typing out the full callsign of a ship, you can instead do /showscan$ 108 to receive the same information.

TLAGSNET Range

TLAGSNET has it's limits, which I did not clearly state in the first post. There are 5 TLAGSNET zones, named after their houses. These zones are Liberty, Bretonia, Kusari, Rheinland, and Gallia.

Liberty
Includes all Trade Lanes and Jump Gates in New York, Colorado, California, Texas, Pennsylvania, Ontario, Alberta, and Virginia. Alaska is not included for being a top secret system. This zone can be scanned by Liberty Police, Inc. ships only.

Bretonia
Includes all Trade Lanes and Jump Gates in New London, Newcastle, Manchester, Dublin, Cambridge, and Poole. Any systems occupied by Gallia are not on this list. This zone can be scanned by Bretonia Police ships only.

Kusari
Includes all Trade Lanes and Jump Gates in New Tokyo, Kyushu, Shikoku, Honshu, Hiroshima, Hokkaido, and Nagano. Rishiri is not included due to it being a border world. This zone can be scanned by Kusari State Police ships only.

Rheinland
Includes all Trade Lanes and Jump Gates in New Berlin, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Munich, Stuttgart, and Koeln. Dresden is in the midst of a war, taking it off this list. This zone can be scanned by Rheinland Federal Police ships only.

Gallia
Includes all Trade Lanes and Jump Gates in Ile-de-France, Picardy, Orleanais, Auvergne, Provence, Burgundy, Lorraine, Lyonnais, Dauphine, and Languedoc. Champagne is under Council control, which is why is does not appear on the list. This zone can be scanned by Gallic Royal Police ships only.

Conclusion:

By reading this manual, you have familiarized yourself with the basics of TLAGSNET. Do note that when you try this yourself, you'll have to sift through vast amounts of information, so be sure not to have a brain meltdown.
