Hello there, everyone!

Well, before I start waging around in the forums I've decided to do a quick introduction to the spledid community.

I am currently looking over the factions and I must say that I will need hlep with decisions and recruitment process, so if someone could point me out or help me decide who to join, I would be thankful! =)

Freelancer Related:

I'm an old Freelancer player. I've played the game back in 2003/4 when it was released. Finished the single player campaign a dozen times. After the servers were shut close, I went sad and desparate trying to find a way to play - but I failed. Back then, I didn't had the knowledge to actually dwell into a search. Time passed by, and from time to time I installed Freelancer, played over the single player campaign a few times and then uninstalled it. I am not sure how many times, but I did it quite a lot.

And then, a few weeks ago, I again installed Freelancer and started playing. And then it happened. A friend of mine told me over MSN about Discovery. I have no idea how could I miss it for all this time, but at first I just couldn't believe it. After he sent me the link to the site, I was amazed.

And there... Here I am. Again, trying to refresh my memory and fully return to the most awesome game I've ever played! But seriously. Freelancer was always amongst my top 3.

General Gaming Related:

I'm a so to say, hardcore roleplayer. I really enjoy roleplaying so I am quite sure I'll love this server a lot.

I am playing D&D and StarWars (in pen and paper/dice and paper) around 6 years now. I played and playing still some of these games : aD&D, D&D, M.A.G.U.S., Iron Heroes, Vamprie, Forgotten Realms, Fallout, D Sun, Raveloft, Iron Kingdom, Palladrium, Shadowrun, Paranoia... and some more maybe, I can't remember.

I played in several counter strike, warfcraft and wow clans before (mainly as tactics officer), won a few smaller tournaments, and etc. We never went on any bigger tournaments or events as we never had the chance. Maybe we would go much further if we did have some better connections or better material standing. I play many games, ranging from action to strategy.

I'm a tactical team player, and even above it I am rated (by others) as a skilled tactics officer. I always preferred organization and well "knocked together team".

Others

I am a programmer by hobby(self thought), but at the same time, the leader of FusionSoft, a game/mod developer team as the Designer and Producer of the Universe of Dilogus. I am a great fan of Ancient Egypt, Medieval German, Ninja & Samurai history. Particularly the Culture and the Battle/Fighting styles and techniques. Of course I am a great fan of Sci-Fi books as well.

I am also a writer of some sorts... At the moment, I am working on a game universe and at the same time writing a novel within it.

I love to draw and do different sceneries. Mainly, I prefer character art/digital and painting. But I can handle other things as well if needed... But not as good.

Beside these, I am active as a translator for a local magazine, or doing freelance translations for websites or book stores if I have the time. Also, relating english, I give classes to kids from English language. (I'm from Serbia by the way).

Okay, that came out a bit longer than I expected... But who wants, will read it.

Cheers! =)
Welcome to the forums;)

Hide from the Hoodlum, take note of the n00blet, Revere the Reverend, dread the Dreygon, meet the Marburg, Zhjoot the Zapp, etc.:P

Faction-wise, see this
Thanks for the welcome and that link I was already reading through. Still not sure how does the reputation thingy working on the server but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it.

I will thou, still need help with the decision... I hope I'll get some by time =)
Oh nice, welcome!

But beware. The server is sometime full of lolwuters. Especially in Liberty. Just a friendly warning.

Haha... Yea, I noticed the aspects of it already.:D
Hey there, welcome to the server! If you have any questions beside the ones you just asked, feel free to fire away and they'll be answered.
As for factions, also look at this:
http://discoverygc.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=238

The thread has 5 pages, and every official discovery faction has it's own post there explaining in short what they are all about.
Some of the member rosters are outdated there, but all other info in there is fully useful.
Read their RP to understand what they're all about.

Good luck with your disco career,
Swift
Welcome, very very welcome, try your RP skils at the cafe of freeport 1

Welcome. Check out the Strontium Dogs. http://discoverygc.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=19809
Welcome, good to see you here, I thought I might mention if your looking for some startup cash plenty of people around here pay for graphics work so if you want to stay independent for a while and get a feel for things that might be a good idea (check out media center). Also if you haven't seen this already a new version is about to come out in weeks to days depending on who you ask that will involve some pretty major rule changes as well as a lot of new ships in-game and an open Beta.

Once again welcome aboard and I hope you have a great time.

Finally a few useful Links if you haven't already found them:

The Wiki: http://discoveryfl.com/wiki/index.php
On here you can find server commands and a list of factions as well as lots of other information about ships, equipment and locations.

The new version release FAQ: http://discoverygc.com/forums/index.php?sh...c=30631&hl=

The new ID's: http://discoverygc.com/forums/index.php?ac...t=0#entry245999
Important if you get some money and get a big cargo ship and with some ID's for characters you couldn't play as well in this version like Scientist.

And finally a guide with links for rookies that's pretty good though I would say a little dated: http://discoverygc.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=8574
