To the Esteemed members of the Corsair council,

I am Samuel Nichols, owner, director and CEO of a new shipping firm based out of Freeport 11. I know the Zoners and your bother hood have had some recent difficulties as of late, so I figured it best to introduce myself and company to you. My firm will be operating out of Freeport 11 and Freeport 9. We will be hauling cargo to and from trying to keep life on board these stations at a decent level. Since we both operate in the same part of space I wanted to inform you of my companies services and intentions. I also wanted to ask your permission to move good through your home systems of Omicron Gamma, since that is the only way to get from Freeport 11 in the rest of Sirius.

Most of our trade ships will be taking the Theta jump hole but there are a few that may nee to go all the way down to Omega-41 and since that goes such a long distance through your sovereign territory I wanted to ask permission before we did so. We will dock at no station and use none of your facilities if you like. All we ask is to pass peacefully through so we can conduct our business. Now if we can be of service to you, I would be happy to make arrangements for cargo runs to supply your stations and planets in Gamma and Delta. I know that your Yaren station uses a lot of MOX and would be happy to bring it in for you.

Any issues please feel free to contact me on this Channel

Sincerely
Samuel Nichols
CEO- Omicron Supply Industries

Message reads:

You most certainly do not get something for nothing. What you ask is no small thing considering we as a people derive a great amount of our livlihood by taking the livlihoods of people such as yourself, and stopping ships such as yours at a time and place of our choosing and convenience.
You are right, Yaren does use a considerable amount of MOX, as does Tripoli. However, you will not be running cargoes though our space to our ports that ensure you get the largest profit, rather you will run cargoes to our ports of which we have the greatest need.
And for now, that commodity is food, we would ask that at least on some of your runs, you transfer as much of this to Crete as possible.

You will also find a list of protected cargoes we allow to our facilities here:

Agree to these terms, and im sure the council will be happy to work out some form of arrangement.

Message Ends.

Muagh hahaha! You can run the gauntlet like everyone else amigo. Ill guarantee you heavy taxation and death if you dont pay. Unless you can come up with a very very appealing offer consider yourselves tax fodder. Oh and by the way the council had no authority to decide who get pirated and who doesnt. That boils down to individual corsairs and factions. I will not enforce a no piracy on any corsair unless you pay for the privelege. I would resist ANY recommendation that your organisation is given free reign to trade without penalty in our systems.

Piracy is our way of life and it seems your asking us to not pirate you. HAHAHA! typical corporate dreamer.

Gentle out.

Re: Passage through our space.

Senor, as stated by my friend Gentle, the Corsair council cannot offer you exemption or protection from Corsairs. Our empire consists of hundreds of semi-indipendant pirates, and ultimately, when they encounter your vessels it will be entirely up to them as to weather to bleed your captains dry.
If you wish to avoid this, you have three options;
  • You can attempt to slip through the Maldava Cloud, each time attempting to avoid our patrols. You might get lucky once or twice, though I'd wager 9 times out of 10, you'll be caught and extorted.
  • You can attempt to demonstrate your good will by running regular and high-profile shipments of food, fertilizers, consumer goods, medical supplies etc. to Planet Crete, announcing your presence, asking for docking clearance and in-effect, broadcasting to all in Omicron Gamma that you are helping the nation. If you do this on a regular basis, pirates may be greatful enough to let your ships pass unhindered through our space.
  • You can incorporate supply-runs to Crete into your normal shipping runs. This means, you would leave with your cargo and perhaps 1/4 of it would be designated as supplies for the Corsairs. You could then offload them on Crete on your way to your final destination. This would pay for your passage and demonstrate your good will every time your ships where seen in Gamma, which could reduce the likelihood of being pirated.
However, no strategy can guarantee you protection or exemption 100% of the time. If you pass through our space, weather willingly or being forced, you WILL benefit our empire.

Gentlemen,

I would never assume to use your sovern space with out consent. That is the main reason I wanted to contact you before we begin trade runs. I also understand that while you make policy for the Corsairs as a whole, your are still a group of diverse indiviuals and that some of your people may ask for compensation for allowing us to pass. Also thank you for pointing me to the list of goods that your people need. I want to be a good neighbor and develope an excellent relationship with you. I will definatly make sure that my pilots know that while in Omicron Gamma they need to comply with any taxing that may occure. I will imediatly work in routs that will include shipments of food and other items to your home world of Crete. I will also let my pilots know that they need to ask for docking permission and anounce their cargos and intentions. All escort pilots will also be instructed to power down all weapons inside Omicron Gamma.

While I know that getting to know each other will take time, I hope that we can find mutual benifit from being friends. Food shipments will begin at once, as will items on the list you directed me to. I hope this is a start of a long, mutually benificial, relationship.

Sincerely
Samuel Nichols

Im liking what you say hermano. Carlos has given you what I consider to be a very clever proposal. Providing you show you are capable of sustaining this then I would be inclined to tell teh OPG to reduce taxation on your vessels or ignore your shipents if you carry food for crete. Lets us see what the future holds and how true to your words your actions are. For your sake you should show yourself to be a man of honour for there will be only one chance from me.
