If i create a character and develop it to some extent. Buy a VHF or Gunboat and earn money. lets say 40 Mills.
And then i rename my character.
By doing so, will i lose my New ship and 38Mills credits?

No, you will keep all of it. You just lose 2 million credits for the rename.
