Information

A dedicated Unioner is the one who gives his life and his soul for the better of the Union. For many years individual members of the Unioners have tried to give everything they had to benefit their cause be it directly or indirectly. Faithful arbiters showed their support in many fields, some of them being engineering and pirating and others being economics and smuggling. Many created companies under fake identifications in a way to provide Unioner smugglers with access to the white market and lawful goods. Others created firms to launder the stolen funds so that the Unioners could acquire legal properties on a lawful ground.

There were many such attempts but none of them were as successful as The Hansa. The Hansa is an imports and exports company founded in 825 A.S. that was created by the members of the Sydnicligas as a way to provide lawful sell points for, otherwise contraband, Military Salvage. This commodity provided The Hansa with billions of credits and a very respected name in the Sirius underworld. As expected with such power comes great responsibility and it wouldn’t be long before the Hansa would completely separate themselves from the Ligas. At first, it was looking great for them but eventually their lies and failed attempts of manipulation would catch up to them forcing the members to abandon the company and migrate into the Omicrons.

However, the urge to manipulate the exportation of black market goods to the white market was left unsatisfied in the hearts of many Unioners, and now with the newly organized Unioner movement wreaking havoc in Rheinland space, it’s as good of a time as it will ever be to recreate the faction under the Direktorat’s command.
These days pilots belonging to the Hansa can still rarely be seen flying through space despite the company's reactivation. The Direktorat now faces a big challenge of recreating what once was and not letting the employees deviate from the Unioners ever again. The Unioners now guide the Hansa with an iron fist, overseeing its every move, sometimes even too closely.

Today Hansa is a front company for the Unioner's money laundering and black market operations and can mostly be seen transporting contraband goods and fulfilling lawful and unlawful shipping contracts. Most criminals will avoid pirating Hansa’s ships since they’re under the protection of the Unioners, giving the Hansa one less expense to worry about.

The Hansa is no longer closely tied to the base called Rothaar Huette since once the previous employees went into hiding, the base was abandoned and left to fall apart. Now a new installation is being constructed in its place. The Luftschutzbunker Luxemburg is a perfect front for the illegal operations taking place in Zurich and serves as an outstanding place to find shelter amongst both Rheinland and Gallic Lawful forces. However keep in mind that the base is open for both parties, so be careful who you’re trying to run away from.

History

The Very Beginning

In 825. A.S. The war between Battlegroup Harmony, now a part of the Insurgency, and the Syndic Ligas, now reintegrated Unioners, was taking place in Bering. The turf war that lost purpose very quickly took a heavy toll on the Liga’s economy. The Arbeitsdirektorat had to act fast and with the creation of many front companies, they had to pick one that would single-handedly drag their economy out of the red. And just like that The Hansa was born. All they had to do was get some fake papers for their pilots and come up with a suitable backstory.
First The Hansa mainly consisted of confused Unioner smugglers that, out of nowhere, had to pretend to be extravagant Orbital Spa and Cruise employees. Some of them failed immediately while others got into the role considerably too well.

The company was given a fake history and all personnel was given fake identification cards with simple instructions. The ex-leader, George Black, was actually a pilot of Orbital Spa & Cruise origins so that made his role a lot easier to play out.
Eventually, as the Hansa got a firm hold on the Military Salvage market they constructed a station in Bering that served as a storage facility for all of their questionable cargo. Rothaar Huette eventually developed but at the beginning, it wasn’t much of a base.

“Rothaar Huette eventually developed but at the beginning, it wasn’t much of a base.“

After a year of operating, a selection between the employees has been made and those fully loyal to the company decided to deviate from The Unioners and become an independent organization. This would impact the Liga’s economy heavily but that was of no importance since they had more crucial things to attend to.

The Bering War

With the conflict between the separatists and the Unioners now nearing its peak, Hansa had to act fast, as they had to first ensure safe passage through Bering to their own pilots and keep the base intact. These were struggling times but eventually, they managed to ensure neutrality with both the Unioners and the Separatists.

During this time the base was heavily upgraded and reinforced so that it would withstand a raid from either of those parties. The business was at its peak and the company was cashing in credits cards worth a billion credits on monthly bases. The contracts from multiple lawful parties kept coming and the reputation amongst the house corporations grew rapidly. Shortly the faction had no shortage of V.I.P. clients and most employees were amongst the best paid in Sirius.

The First Disappearance

You can’t ever have too much money. Or can you? You can if it’s unregistered money stashed away on credit cards and hidden in bank accounts in the omicrons. Eventually, someone will catch up to you and they did. With the Bering War over, the Liberty Navy’s attention was now shifted to Bering. And for a shady corporation that shipped black market goods, this was far from ideal.

In a week's time, the employees and the high command gathered their ships and belongings and flew towards the omicrons. With this they hid from all the house governments and disappeared for a while, not knowing what was happening in Bering.

The Return Of The Trading Giant And The Rheinland Civil War

After almost half a year The Hansa hired Liberty’s finest private detectives to investigate Bering and with the results in hand, the high command finally decided to return to house space with all their property seized and with a considerably lower amount of credits.

When the first scout vessels reached Bering they were shocked to see the Liberty Separatists exiled from Bering. The presence of the Liberty navy’s battlegroup was rather unpleasant and considered unhealthy for the business. However that was not all, their main source of income, the Military Salvage mining zone was depleted of the valuable resource. Now it was certain. Bering is no longer a safe haven for The Hansa’s operations.

However not everything was bad, Rothaar Huette was still intact. Damaged, but intact. From a safe distance, the high command dispatched deconstruction ships and slowly but surely Rothaar was getting ready to be moved.
It took them surprisingly long to realize that they don’t know where to move yet. In the meantime, while the scouts were looking for a suitable place, the high command had to find a suitable business to keep their operations up and running. This is where the Rheinland Civil War came into play.

With the war in its most exhausting form, both sides were in need of supplies. Fast. And they were willing to give you credits, their house, wife, children, and their mother in exchange. Those were hard times for the people of Rheinland but that didn’t bother the corporation one bit. It was the simple question of how to make the most money out of the current situation and the answer was even simpler. You support both sides. That way you make the maximum amount out of the conflict and you keep it going even longer.

It was easier than expected. Hansa’s vessels flew through Rheinland without any retaliation as when they were caught by Imperialists with Federalist supplies they would simply say that the supplies are for Imperialists instead. Their participation in the conflict remains unknown to the public until this day.

The Colonialisation of Zurich And The Second Disappearance

It didn’t take long for the Hansa’s scouts to discover the not-so-old Zurich system. With the neutrality of the system itself and the presence of the Unioners, this was a perfect location to rebuild their station and finally get some rest away from the always-watching eye of the Rheinland Military. Rothaar Huette was then reconstructed in one of the clouds in the system, well hidden away from the public.

It was all looking great for the company at this point but something weird happened. Ever since the first disappearance, the number of their employees was noticeably smaller and that was reasonable but when they moved into Zurich the number started dropping rapidly, eventually, the high command was forced to pay unaffiliated transports to keep their base alive and well. However, with even them realizing that this was the end, the faith of the corporation was certain.
Greed quickly overcame the high command and they decided that it would be better for them personally to pack up their money and belongings and move away from the struggling company into a life of luxury.

With that, only a handful of men have been left abroad in Rothaar Huette, awaiting the day that they would run out of supplies. Amongst them was the company's CEO, George Black. Day after day they were stuck on their base with little to no supplies left. Eventually, their ship’s fuel was used to power the station and the hulls of their liners were welded onto the station's outer hull to keep the vacuum from entering through the holes.
However this was it, the lowgrade ship hull panels were nothing in comparison to the station's original hull. Eventually, the station met its end.
After a while, some unidentified freelancer reported seeing bodies floating in space. They were later identified as the remaining employees of the company. And just like Rothaar, the corporation was dead.

The Renaissance

Little remained of the old company apart from a few economic plans and assets scattered around the entirety of Sirius. However, this is where it all started: The Unioners still have the same problem. They’re still in need of a front company to offer them a new market and to launder their credits

And it’s that simple. All that they need is another Hansa. This time under close supervision of the Direktorat, The Unioners decided to give this concept another try. Some would say they haven’t learned anything from their mistakes, others that the previous faction was just a failed test subject.
Whatever is the reasoning behind it some things are certain, the Hansa had a good run, it would be stupid not to try and milk it again. And just like that, Hansa was reborn again. This time under the command of a Direktorat member whose name is still unknown. Where Rothaar tragically met its end, a new station is being rebuilt by the Unioners to serve as a hub for the freshly formed Hansa. The Luftschutzbunker Luxembourg now stands in Rothaar’s place.

Luftschutzbunker Luxembourg

Don’t let the name fool you. This station is a place of luxury and prestige. Despite its purpose, to serve as a shelter for wealthy travelers and businessmen passing through the system, the base is equipped with luxurious rooms and a high-end bar with drinks from all over Sirius. However, the base is well protected and capable of sustaining high damage. It serves as a sort of Freeport for both Gallic and Rheinland pilots to rest and bond with each other.

Despite the base’s many lawful functions, this was never its purpose. Hidden from the eyes of the nosey vacationers are the storage containers and quarters in which the shadiest business occurs. Behind doors, closed to the public, is where the real profits are made. And this is where the neutrality of Zurich truly shines. There is no shortage of anything unlawful there, gambling, guns, drugs, organs, human trafficking, stolen accounts, contraband luxury goods, banned commodities, private escorts, military secrets, you name it. Whatever you wish, if you have a pocket deep enough, you can get it here. You just have to name the item. Some of them are provided by Hansa employees personally and are delivered on-demand. This is the true charm of this place. And all right under the noses of lawfuls.

Started reading the info and the first thing I notice is the first sentence.
Baden Baden is in Stuttgart, not New Berlin.

Otherwise, interesting take on OSC.

EDIT: Also, imo the diplomacy is a little confusing to look at. I'm not sure if you're hostile to Zoners or neutral to them, since the red is filled with lawfuls as well, but same with the green.
Mistake has been fixed, thank you for pointing it out.

About the reputation, you should look at the right half of the bar. The greener it is friendlier the faction is, the rader it is the more hostile it is. If there is no bar, (as for zoners) that means we are neutral.

Thank you for your feedback, a proper feedback will be made shortly!
Howdy,

Your reputation sheet is really really confusing. when the bar is showing full red and green I dont know which way your swinging your bat, either in favor or against?

I think you have way to many blurry text thing going on. that stuff is cool for comms and bios but imo not for factions write ups.
In all honesty, I kind of like the rep chart. It's unnecessary, sure, but it's different and if anything, aesthetically pleasing. Everything else on the page seems dreary in comparison.

Other than a few grammatical and spelling errors, reasonably self explanatory. I agree with Kahl and I feel you've over done the blurry thing. It's public OORP knowledge of your faction, not some vague comms post shrouded in secrecy.

If you intend to make a presence in the Liberty black market, you are going to want to approach both the Hackers and the Rogues to make sure that you guys understand each other. The Rogues don't do competition and the Hackers don't trust anyone. Otherwise you'll end up being pestered by Rogues and unable to use their facilities and their ties in the already well established black market brokered by the Junkers. If your faction goal is to take over the black market, I think it's cool and 100% support your factions ideology. But a word from the wise, do not let the Rogues find out that is your intention. Try establishing some decent relations before your take over attempt.

Other wise, I like it. I think you have what it takes. Good luck!
The reputation chart is really awful to look at if you're at all colorblind (like me).
You simply look on the right end kalh. Is red? means Hostile. Is it green? means Friendly between that well you know the rest.

Iris, sorry we will overwork it for collerblind people.
The blurry text has been unblurred. Because I have noticed that this is just the ooRP look at the faction.

I have acknowledged both Alte's and Kalh's suggestions. Thank you for the advice .
