I want to make some sort of collection of short but highly important tips that covers most important aspects for beginners and returning members.

For example:
  • Green lights on Trade Lanes shows where to dock to go forward.
  • If you are ever stuck waiting at Jump Gate or Jump Hole, look for nearby NPCs to enter formation with (F4)
Pressing F2 when you undock skips some undocking cutscenes and starts cruise engines (press F2 when it pops up "loading")

Axel Torvals

If flying a cap, once at max cruise speed press engine kill then tap reverse thrust until speed under 300 - energy will recharge while speed stays high....
You can scroll through ships filter by pressing on Ships icon multiple times:

Trying to dock on a lane from an angle and the lane docking isn't working for ya? Hit Return (Enter) and type: /stuck and it may get you in the lane faster than when you manoeuvre your ship for a retry.

Also, when approaching a Jump-Hole or Jump-Gate already activated or when you're in a queue, click on the ship in front of the gate and press 'F4' or the 'Formation button'. This may get you through the hole/gate a fraction of a time faster.
If you are having trouble winning in combat, try getting better at the game.
Failure is irrelevant, this is not real.
Embrace yourself as a hypocrite.
The only thing better than public apologies to specific people are passive aggressive public apologies to specific people.
There is more to Discovery than just trading and fighting. Talk to other pilots as your character. Use commands like "/roll 1d6" or "/coin" to gamble. Some of the best adventures and friendships start that way.
