Greetings,

Let's skip the insults and jargon and get straight to business.

I'm in a situation where I've got several annoying weapons platforms causing me slight distress. They're controlled via a console but I can't seem to bypass it's security. So, who better to contact about hacking into something than the Lane Hackers themselves?

I need software, delivered via the neural net, that'd allow me to slice into a console and take control. The console is of Rheinland make, and I'd wager the installation was constructed either by Kruger, DHC, or both. If you help me out, I'm sure there's something I can give you in return.

Skip the insults? Oh my dear. Perhaps you might be surprised to know that the Core is one of the few organizations in Sirius that the Lane Hackers respect.

I believe we can help you out but we need more specifics. Information about the target, its terminal anything you know just throw it in.

Oh and we won't do hit jobs against friends.

Wolfgang Weisen,

Excellent. I'm glad our respective controversial diplomacy will have no bearing on our exchange.

As stated, the terminal is of Rheinland make. It seems very similar to terminals employer by Kruger and Daumann. Although... I am starting to have my suspicions it could be military make upon further inspection. The station is defended like a fortress - for what purpose I don't know but clearly your average civilian miner isn't supposed to be here. There's also several VI Service Droids roaming around. Much like the platforms, they too seem to be malfunctioning, and won't shut the hell up about getting me a drink.

The composition of the plarforms seems to be a handful battleship cerberus turrets and several pulse turrets. There also appears to be a very sophisticated cloak disruptor platform, making a cloaked approach impossible.

Ah, one last thing: I suspect the station to be very old. It's last CNS news article dates back to 799 A.S.

That's all the key information that comes to mind. Is that sufficient?

My dear Nova,

I am trying to determine what kind of tools we will need. Based on the news reels and your personal estimations the station has remained deserted for several decades. In fact outdated software from the previous century will be very easy for us to unlock.

But then you mentioned cloak disruptors... cloaking technology was first employed during the war of 800 A.S. and the disruptors came several years later.

Subsequently there is a serious chronological discrepancy and oddity with this installation. There are two possible explanations. One is that you are not telling me the entire truth. The other is that your estimations are wrong and the station was populated in the first decade of this century.

I want to believe this pretty face with a half-shaved head is telling me the truth but based on your history I think you don't. When Professor Yoshida first caught you in Shikoku, you weren't particularly honest with him, were you?

Wolfgang Weisen,

Apologies, once again you'll have to bear with me as this sort of thing isn't my strength. I can't say for sure when the installation is abandoned, but based on what I can see it's by no means a recent construction, nor have it's past inhabitants visited it recently.

You are right however - the use of Cloak Disruptor platforms does create a chronological anomaly, and indicates the station must've had upgrades recently. That... or perhaps the technology is older than we thought.

Either way, I am merely informing you what I can visibly see as I explore.

I sent the info to one of our specialists, and I just received some software tools which will probably work in your case. If they don't, I think we will need to physically visit the installation, however my man is confident it won't be needed.

If you're interested then we can meet in Freeport 2 for the exchange.

Wolfgang Weisen,

Regrettably, the opportunity has passed. Something else came up. I neglected to contact you so that I didn't waste further time. Apologies.
