I ran into the problem that I couldn't find the forward gun that would be suitable for Corvo.
Yes, imagine, forward guns can be mounted on CIVILIAN explorer instead of anomaly scanner, but...
Try to aim them and realize that forward guns are shooting not forward, but DOWN! Like rays at flying saucers.
It's cool and fun, but aiming turns into hell.

The only gun that suits is 'Liberty Cruiser Siege Gun', but it is mountable only on liberty siege cruiser.
I suggest to make a replacement version of siege gun, not a copy, just anything that shoots FORWARD. It may be pulse cannon, beam or anything else that fits into balance.
If not, stop teasing Corvo players and remove opportunity to install forward guns on that ship at all.
There's a limited amount of weapon classes hardcoded into the game. That can't be fixed.

So, does that answer mean that there will be no forward guns for Corvo (maybe obtainable for some amount of scientific data) and no restrictions about forward guns?
It means the Corvo isn't supposed to have a forward gun.
To elaborate, the slot is there specifically for use with a scientific data scanner. Whilst there may be discussions to implement different equipment for use in the hard-point in the future, currently the only 'weapon' that is supposed to go there is the Anomaly Scanner.


The corvo is a utility and exploration vessel. You can see this in its extensive cruiser shields and low turn rate. It is not designed to have the same amount of forward firepower as a conventional gunboat. It can protect itself pretty well with the weapons it already has - if you need more protection, I would advise hiring an escort.

You can make credits with a corvo and scan jump co-ordinates. As such, it is impacted by balance rules which decrease its combat efficiency, since it has unique non-combat properties.

It's called a forward gun slot because you can only have ten separate conventional cannon and turret classes, most of which are used by Discovery already. For utility tools controlled by the mouse, we are forced to treat them as weapons to economise the use of those pre-defined hardpoint types. We get around people using unintended loadouts by use of the techchart and the powercore system.
Got it. Corvo is good as it is right now.

I don't agree with that I can make credits scanning and selling jump coordinates using this ship. As far as I know (have read wiki and tutorials): Hyperspace Scanner MK2 + 600 MOX require 1200 free cargo space. Yes, it fits in 1200 hold size, despite a great difficulty. That will require unmounting all other equipment(armor, guns, CM, thruster, maybe shield) and big hurry (do it until 1 unit of MOX dissapear, must have 600 for scanning). It's better to explore anomalies and get scientific data.
