Title says it all. I cant connect to any server actually , not even with vanilla freelancer. This is what it says when i try to log in:

"I'm sorry but a connection could not be established to that server. This is usually caused by a server going offline when you atempted to connect to it. It may also be caused by internet problems. Please try again later."

I remember having this problem waaaay back. It went away after a while, but i never knew what caused it ... or how to fix it. I only managed to keep playing cause when i joined the server through xfire it worked. I actually tried that just now and it didnt work, same message. So ... anyone have any ideas ?

Mine did that for about a day, but I had a REALLY slow internet connection that day. Mabey that's what it is?
But mabey not...

I used to think that was the prob, since the first times i tried it i was on my crappy wireless internet. But then i tried it on my good , 12mb net and it still didnt work.

GLS workaround. get it. or do a direct ip connect, theres a tutorial around here somewheres.

I have the GLS , or else i wouldnt even be able to see the servers. But im gonna look out for the direct ip connect. I used to do it on another server i think.

You know how to access the folder containing the discovery mod? There should be a shortcut for a direct IP connection to Disco Role-Play server there.

If that doesn't work, check your firewall settings.

Ok , i tried the shortcut and it still didnt work. Im gonna check out my firewall then.

Cant ping, or get a full tracert to your IP. Anti-virus software, firewall, or router settings are your problem.

Ok , so it was my antivirus after all. it was on the "blacklist",, so i changed to avira and its all fine now.
