Delivery of Human Resources

Buenos dias, Señor Supervisor,
I hereby inform you that while defending the frontiers of la Nacíon in Omicron Tau we dealt wit ha significant group of pesky Bounty Hunters. The survivors were taken into custody and delivered to Malta. They were moved to our guarded compound until our Human Resources Division can apprehend them. In this regard, we notify you that the delivery is ready to pick up: 1,051 individuals are at your disposal and I hope you will put them to good use, despite recent plantation automatisation. Looking forward to your quarterly report on the plantation performance.

Respetuosamente,
Adelantado C. Escudero

Military Salvage (Bering)

Buenos dias,
Antonio de Motti of “Vela” reporting. En route to Beaumont Base with a load of Cardamine I was contacted by our contractors with the Junkers. As we know, the Tanner Belt engulfs entirely Bering system, no mineral deposits of economic value have ever been discovered within the barren rock asteroids within the vast field. We know that shipwrecks are scattered across the whole asteroid field. The Junkers assure us, however, that in sector 6G there is a cluster of shipwrecks of military-grade vessels. By my arrival, the Junkers had already managed to collect enough samples of military salvage and were awaiting us at one of Bristol Depot’s docks. Paid 9,500,000 credits for the load of 3,800 units, I delivered the cargo to Valetta Shipyard without complications. The local engineers found the salvage to be of interest and requested to deliver more.

Buenos dias,
Antonio de Motti of “Vela” reporting. Flying into House systems usually requires minimum an escort of one or two fighters. Sometimes we have to gample, however. Our pool of mercenaries is not that big yet, so our convoy of two "Aspises" was escorted by heavy fighter "Carabela" piloted by a mercenary ad hoc Rodrigo Rodriguez.

Ships and captains (pilots) involved in convoy:
  • "Vela" - commercial pilot Antonio de Motti
  • "Medellin" - commercial pilot Ricardo Cortez
  • Mercenary Maltese Rodrigo Rodriguez

We passed Kusari space without issues. While covertly passing through New York system, our vessels were attacked by a Xeno pilot. After a short conversation the fight commenced. As the result of a short and brutal combat, Xenos sustained heavy damage rendering his craft unable to continue the fight. Their reinforcement were inbound so senhor Rodriguez intercepted them, allowing "Aspises" to traverse safely to their destination. After waiting for Senhor Rodriguez for some time, we lost any communication with him, rendering him effectively MIA. His heroic dedication to our cause shall not be forgotten and his family will be rewarded accordingly.

Engagement in Tau-37

Buenos dias,
Today when on a regular patrol around Tau systems to secure the trade routes, we encountered an Order battlecruiser in Tau-37 system. Although Order is designated by Consejo Nacional de Malta as enemies, we are not regular Maltese military fleet and gave diplomacy a chance. Our polite requests for the vessel to leave the system were met with radio silence, forcing us to remove the possible threat from our borders. During the combat, mercenary Rodrigo Rodrigues assisted "Valladolid". After a short skirmish, the threat was eliminated. Here I attach the logs of the encounter. As adelantado and representative of the familia, I hope, Señor CSO, your men would provide good defence to our transports given that possibly hostile capital ships are in our immediate vicinity.
Respetuosamente,
Adelantado C. Escudero

New York skirmish

Buenos dias,
Hoy "Valladolid" ventured into Liberty to study increased Xenos activity that impedes our trade convoys. In New York system we picked up signals of allies engaged into a combat, namely two lane hackers: Mildred Wolf and Mactan Oppressor, and one Maltese de la Legion Maltesa callname "Scarface". All piloting smaller spacecrafts, they were opposed by two Liberty battlecruisers: LNS "Montreal" and LNS "South Dakota". "Valladolid" rushed into the combat taking place in the high orbit of planet Manhattan. During the combat we managed to put down "Montreal" but were heavily outgunned, Manhattan being strongly guarded by planetary defence systems, ancillary stations and fleet. In wake of this, we reached consensus to withdraw to Rochester base. LNS "South Dakota" suffered insignificant damage and was headed for repairs allowing us to withdraw without any complications. I must commend the professionalism of our Lane Hackers amigos y los legionarios de La Legion Maltesa: in the face of superior forces they showed discipline and professionalism. This should be accounted for when planning any joint ventures.

This report indicates, senor CSO, that Liberty is still patrolled despite many vessels deployed on Bretonian front. We should bear this in mind when planning itineraries through Libertonian systems as not only Xenos but the Navy can cause us headache. This, however, complicates the explanation of how the Xenos operate so freely without being intercepted by the Navy or the Police. Perhaps, we should inquire with the Hackers or the Rogues to clarify the situation. I shall inform mi Padre about this personally.
Respetuosamente,
Adelantado C. Escudero

Buenos dias,
Ayer "Valladolid" and "Bormida" intercepted a Corsair train in Omicron Alpha hauling goods into Omicron Tau. The pilot claimed to be "freelancing" but his very ship of clearly Corsair design, as well as IFF indicated otherwise. Following the Constitution of Territorial and Interstellar Laws of Malta, Section 1 paragraph 5 the trespasser was destroyed on the spot (see logs in appendix).

Such daredevil acts on behalf of our lost brethren are rare, so alongslide "Bormida" and an escort of two interceptors we ventured into Omicron Xi system to look into possible increased activity of Corsairs in Maltese space. In Omicron Xi we encountered a Corsair "Praefect" Cruiser piloted by captain Santiago Alvez. Corsairs position in the system heavily fortified, to attack would be a suicide. Instead, we resorted to diplomacy and offered to compensate Malta for the troubles of dealing with Cretan trespassers. As expected, we were in no position to make demands but it was worth at least trying. Captain Alvez had no knowledge of possible reasons of Corsair smugglers' activity in Maltese space which probably was a statistical outlier. To our surprise, our negotiations were interrupted by another Corsair that clearly was not recognised by Santiago Alvez as one of his own. IFF "ApS" is probably linked to the rumours about "Apostatas" - the renegade movement within the Empire. The pilot behaved himself/herself quite insolent and disrespectful to the us, which is why it was decided to give him/her a lesson. Our fighters intercepted the bomber and successfully terminated it. Upon inquiries of this group with captain Alvez, we learnt that the latter knew nothing of them as well.

While any Cretan opposition is beneficial for Malta and for Cartel's business operations in Omicrons in particular, initial hostility and insolence indicated there might be less room to negotiate about. Hence, we need dispatch agents to learn more about these "Apostatas", what they stand for and whom do they work with. Perhaps, there is stil lchacne for cooperation. For now, we should treat them as the rest of Corsairs.
Respetuosamente,
Adelantado C. Escudero

Buenos dias,
Antonio de Motti of “Vela” reporting. Cardamine keep flow as planned. Our routes wasn't interrapted by any hostiles and we safetely arrived to Beaumont Base.

En route back from Bering with a load of Premium Scrap, I was met the Unioner's vessels near Freeport 2, who followed me to Texas-Bering gate, where we have had a conversation (Unioners, 26-03-826). Seniora Gunda Riehl was suprised to see our vessel in Bering system without making prior contact and she knew nothing about Cuatroce. Additionally, she said that the Union's been looking for Cardamine suppliers. I reccomend to contact her as soon as possible to establish trade relationships between Cutroce and Union.

While passing through Coronado system, I met the freelancer with a callsign "Liquid Sniper", who was flying a Marauder heavy fighter. She asked me to stop and as it was clear, that this vessel can do nothing to my armored battletransport, I stopped my engines and asked about what did she want. After brief conversation (Freelancer, 26-03-826), Seniorita jumped straight to the business - she needed a slave and she had some very strict requirements. I will list them below:
  • Woman
  • Age between 18 and 22
  • "A rebellious soul" - as she said. One way or another, but this individual was well-informed about how our society and slavery works. Freelancer wanted someone, who doesn't want to comply with our regime, someone from "dangerous places, where you send people like her to collect resources, until their will to resist will be broken" as she has said. Despite the fact, that this statement was exaggerated, I think, that it will also help us to get rid of potential rebel and troubles connected with her.
  • She shouldn't have a lot of records on her from governments. Someone from unlawful or neutral parties maybe.
The list of recruitments is big, but the price is also lucrative enough - 10.000,000 SC She also said, that she doesn't care about slave's dependence on cardamine, but if she has it, we should also provide her with weekly supply of cardamine for one person for additional price in 2,500,000 SC.

At last, Premium Scrap from out contractors at Bristol Depot delivered to Valetta Shipyard. Our engineers already begun to reforge them.

Engagement in Tau-23

Buenos dias,
Hoy I report troublesome news. While on our routine patrol from Omicron Alpha into Orkney, we were to dock with Cali in Tau 23 and restock out FOW. On approaching the station, our plans changed drastically. We spotted Kusarian "Togo"-class Battleship close to Cali base. "Valladolid" and "Bormida" were about to engage the intruder IKN "Neko" but preliminary scans indicated that in the cargo bay of the Battleship there were 30 captured Maltese pilots. I decided to recourse to diplomacy to save the lives of our brethren without putting them under imminent threat. We also demanded a proper fine of 5 million SC for the unsanctioned intrusion and threatening Maltese facility. IKN "Neko", however, decided to withdraw to Kyushu without liberating our brethren so we had no choice but to engage. During the combat, "Neko" used unexpected move and staged an ambush during the retreat to Kyushu system. As the result, "Bormida" was heavily damaged and was subsequently towed to Cali, and later on - to Valetta shipyard. "Valladolid" managed to deliver critical damage to IKN "Neko" and save the pilots. Unfortunately, one Maltese soul was lost in the combat and only 29 pilots were retrieved. It should also be noted that Kusarians fought fiercely and valiantly even in the face of unavoidable death. This is to be taken into consideration in case of further encounters with the IKN.
Respetuosamente,
Adelantado C. Escudero
