Just thought i would introduce myself as im new to these parts. Only been in space for a sort time but i couldnt think of a better way to spend my time!
Starting to get to grips with how it all works but there's alot to take in and im constantly reading something on here.

There sure is a lot to read, but once you have read it you'll have a wonderful time on Discovery. Other than the rules, I'd say the tutorial section has some of the most vital stuff. Good place to start.
Hope you enjoy this place as much as most people here do.
About the learning.... Im playing in the server for a few months now, and im in the forum for about 20 days i think.... But im still learning, and i think i am going to learn as long as i am going to play in disco.....

This is a great big RP family. Some are saner than others.
To start out, don't beg. Sell all your bats/bots and buy a patriot. Then mine copper in the copperton field in colorado, and sell it at pueblo station. Each haul should make you about 10k. Any xenos that attack you should be sold on pueblo too, or you're taking time away from earning just for a slightly better profit. When you've got about 170k, go to manhatten and buy the coffee-pot called the CSV, and some level 8 guns from battleship norfolk.
Now hunt xeno npcs and sell em at Deshima station in shikoku until the liberty rogues are neutral. Now buy a armoured transport from California, and trade:
Newark>LD14, Boron
LD14>stokes, MOX
Stokes>newark, Berylium
Until you have enough for a percheron from leeds. the next ship should be the mammoth, followed by the whale. Playing time, about a week, and then you'll really start raking in the cash.
Here are some do's and don'ts i have discovered (pun intended).
Do
* Do read the rules,
* Do scan the sanction threads occasionally for stuff that you might not be aware is naughty,
* Do have one finger hovering over the PrtSc button *just in case*,
* Do have fun
* Do try to RP your way out of everything - guns are the last resort
* Do try to talk to the other guy before considering a sanction report.
* Do expect the unexpected - including the spanish inquisition
* Do prepare yourself to occasionally turn a blind eye to poor RP
* Do join a faction
* Do get involved in planned events
* Do write the backstories of your characters
* Do get zombified by the Keepers occasionally
Don't
* Don't buy a capital ship,
* Don't cheek the admins,
* Don't do the Diamond-Niobium run,
* Don't forget to re-read the rules,
* Really don't cheek the admins,
* Don't ever think of buying a capital ship
* Don't use leet-spk
* Don't say '2mlrdai'
* Dont forget the other player is sat behind his keyboard shouting at you too
Remember, if you think 'is this within RP?' then it prolly isn't.
