Vallery's only interest is to make the Brigands the high and mighty of Gallia, above the rest in every sense. Though she is not hostile towards other factions, taking a very firm and slightly threatening approach to anything that would disrupt her plans however. Infighting amongst the brigands is only natural for what they are, the free people of Gallia. Anyone or Anything that could help her achieve greatness for the Brigands was something she would pursue, locking down the borders of Gallia for instance would allow the Brigands to tax anyone who came through and gather a limitless amount of resources.

It head been a long time since the Gallic Brigands had any sort of formal leader or figure head. However, with Vallery Rose Dubois at the head of the operation the woman had easily gained influence, power and control of several Brigand bases, though rather than ruling with an iron fist she kept things running the way they always had, with high table members discussing the events that would happen in the months to come. The way she weeded out the weak and lazy was if they didn't show up to the High Table meetings, she'd order a hit and suddenly the entire station bent to her will. The Dounby Brigand head and the Montauban Brigand head decided not to show to the first meeting, so they weren't there for the second. And considering those two bases were vital to her efforts outside of Gallia, their removal made a clear message to the rest of those in the Brigands. Fall in line, stay in line. Vallery had won hearts and cold iron respect in the few months it took her to come to power. Planning to expand operations into Kusari and turn Beaumont into a staging ground for assaults in Zurich. She would need the Brigands collected. And slowly but surely they were. Her plan was this, gain a foothold in Kusari to further her reach and capabilities to cut off Gallic trade in Kusari, Cut off gallic trade to Rheinland in Zurich and force all the lawfuls through Orkney, Tau-23 and Tau-44 where the Brigands stationed on Dounby and Montauban could easily pick them off as they trickled into the big three systems. The Brigands main goal was to gain complete control of the Gallic trade borders. Her plan was hard thought, executing it was going to take more than she had. She needed deals, she needed allies.

The Black Market of the Brigands

Boulogne could never be held by a single group of Brigands, too many people on the station, Brigand and non-brigand alike. It is the most advanced Brigand base however, as it holds the biggest black market operation the Brigands have managed to establish to date, and as such is a nearly priceless base.

Boulogne Base (Picardy)
CLASS: Belfry
GRAVITY: Complete
DOCKING: Yes
AMENITIES: Yes
POPULATION: 540

Boulogne is a large asteroid base that has been haphazardly expanded with numerous artificial components. It is mainly maintained by the Gallic Brigands and their affiliates, but a number of other groups own and operate certain parts of the station. Despite (or possibly due) to its desolate location, Boulogne is considered to be one of the best places to "disappear" to if the law is getting too close.

Navy and Police patrols rarely go near the base, as the Brigands make sure that the "rumors" of ships vanishing among the asteroids in that region are not unfounded. While the base is fairly isolated, the inhabitants of Boulogne are hardly ever idle: power struggles between various minor criminal groups are frequent, smugglers come and go with some of the most exotic goods that the black market can offer, and night life on the station never stops. In a way, Boulogne is home for eternal night, with Nox in no lesser demand than water or air.

Dounby Station (Orkney)
CLASS: Rousay
GRAVITY: Complete
DOCKING: Yes
AMENITIES: Yes
POPULATION: 300

Built inside one of the Westray Field's larger asteroids by the Independent Miners Guild in 801 AS to capitalize on potential rare metals theorized to exist in the field. However, economic significance of the area proved to be lower than initially expected relegating Dounby to a backwater base with low importance. Its population consisted primarily of miners who preferred its relative safety over the riskier mining operations in Tau-23 and Tau-37. That was all to change by 817 AS.

Initially the distant minefield was thought to be nothing more than an Outcast blockade and eagerly avoided by the mining crews, until a series of explosions were detected prompting an investigation. Amidst the detentions a group Council ships emerged and made contact with the mining crews, revealing the presence of a jump hole and the realm of House Gallia.

In the wake of the Gallic pursuit of the Council, Dounby found itself briefly on the frontlines as the attacking Gallic Royal Navy forces poured into Orkney. Operations were temporarily suspended until an accord was reached between the Independent Miners Guild and the Gallic Crown, after operations were resumed most of the raw minerals harvested from the Westray Field were purchased by passing Gallic transports returning from the Bretonian front.

In 824 AS the ruthless Gallic Brigands launched a bold attack on Dounby station. Though caught unaware, the security forces of the IMG put up an admirable defense of the poorly armed base but ultimately were outmatched and overwhelmed by the calculated Brigand assault. The fearsome battle may have left Dounby in a severely damaged state and in need of major repairs, yet the Gallic Brigands still celebrate their victory and the claiming of a base that will allow them to expand their influence far beyond the borders of Gallia.

Vallery plans to expand this base of operations after the incident in Rousillon, turning it into a staging point for assaults in nearby target systems.

Montauban Base (Rousillon)
CLASS: Gouges
GRAVITY: Complete
DOCKING: Yes
AMENITIES: Yes
POPULATION: 260

The larger part of Gallic Brigands who came from Languedoc with the Council fleet are staying on Toulouse, but some chose to secure their own outpost at the very beginning. Within the icy depths of the Ariege, they found a suitable large asteroid in orbit of Planet Prades. Docking ports and hallways were built inside the asteroid by Brigand workers and IMG engineers that were hired to help with base construction. Currently, the station is capable of housing over half a thousand people, a number that is expected to increase in the future.

Brigand's Piggy bank. Most of the Brigand's supply is stored on Epernay. Vallery plans to expand this base to augment the might of the Brigands as a whole.

Epernay Station (Champagne)
CLASS: Coquin
GRAVITY: Complete
DOCKING: Yes
AMENITIES: Yes
POPULATION: 300

A fortified base of the Gallic Brigands in the central part of the Ardennes asteroid field. Prior to the Council's seizing of Marne, the Brigands preyed on EFL and GMS convoys moving to Burgundy from this base. The base has been kept operational, but most of the Brigand activities in Champagne now take place on Marne itself

Vallery's current HQ and connecting point for Beaumont and Bolougne.

Salbris Base (Orleanis)
CLASS: Fournier
GRAVITY: Complete
DOCKING: Yes
AMENITIES: Yes
POPULATION: 790

Like most asteroid bases in the Core Worlds, Salbris is a chaotic, messy and crowded place. It is located on the route from Orleanais to Picardy, controlling a popular smuggling route. In addition to the Gallic Brigands who control the base, smugglers of many other unlawful factions live on the station. A good size of the base population doesn't belong to any particular group at all but are outlaws ready to do whatever job they can get, so long as it pays well.

Base of Assault operations in Tau-53

Pelussin Base
CLASS: Rhone S1
GRAVITY: Complete
DOCKING: Yes
AMENITIES: Yes
POPULATION: 680

Pelussin Base was constructed within the Toul Nebula circa 500 AGS, after learning that EFL was constructing a jump gate within the nearby Sarre Nebula. The base is an important outpost of the Brigands in Lorraine, sitting within striking distance of the lane between Metz and the jumpgate to Tau-53. Police and Navy patrols approach the base on occasion, but are usually beaten back before becoming a threat. Pelussin is both an important smuggling post and a launchpoint for ships looking to raid the trade lanes.

Pelussin's permanent population is not too large and is estimated to be around 150 to 200 people. However, the base is one of the primary hubs of the slave trade in Gallia, and it is designed to house a lot more people for short periods of time. Since the problem of overpopulation is not unfamiliar for Gallia, acquiring Slaves on Gallic planets and some unlawful stations is rarely a challenge. Most Slaves were initially homeless people, drug addicts, and various socially undesirable individuals who were searching for quick and easy earnings. They signed ridiculous (and mostly illegal) contracts that bound them to their employers for dozens of years without an option to quit. After being transported to pirate facilities, the papers they signed served no other purpose than to demonstrate that the Slaves sealed their fate themselves and there wasn't anyone else to blame.

Various kinds of Slaves are in demand for various activities. Good-looking young women and strong men in their 30s being in the highest demand. Pelussin can usually offer Slaves of any age or sex. If the supplies of the station cannot meet some of the more exotic demands, slavers can usually acquire the necessary selection in a matter of weeks. During the wait, clients may enjoy himself or herself with various recreational options that the station offers, some of them not found anywhere else in Gallia.
