I'm sure you've all heard of it, the good and the bad, etc.

But anyways. I've been playing this before I heard about freelancer and it is one of my favorite games. Yes it's very hard to log on cause of all the bots and although Joymax is trying they're lagging behind.

Anyways, it is still a great game in my eyes. A very large mmorpg, great universe taking place on the silkroad, you can create both European and Asian characters, each race of which has their own set of weapons, skills, and abilities.

They just released the trailer to their new update legends 4, tomb of qin-shi emperor, which raises the lvl limit to 100 and adds a new areas as well as new weapons and equipment.

I have the trailer uploaded to my youtube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/SwissScorch

The official SRO website is here: http://www.silkroadonline.net

I play on the Oasis server, so if anyone joins I recommend starting there. I do lead a guild called Black_Squad, which currently consists of people from the Bs| clan and some friends of mine. Yet we're all pretty much inactive. So if any of you join, I'll be more than happy to welcome you in, and I'm offering free powerleveling for any of you who do because lvling up is one the hardest things in this game.

So please check it out, youtube has some great videos on it, the english in the game isn't perfect as joymax apparently doesn't have proper speaking english employees, but you can get it and it's still an amazing game. Out of 10 I'd give it a 7.75/10 which I think is still pretty good.

Feel free to contact me or whatever if you have questions.

Thank you!

edit/ps and yes, my main character is called Sius_Malacos hehe. The only difference that a . we use here to seperate names is a _ in sro. My other character (asian one) is called Xasha_Tsiire. Not a lot of rp at all but I do it, especially with the names.
Here are some Screenshots I took with xfire:
These (and more) are all available from my xfire page: http://xfire.com/profile/swissscorch

everybody run for your life... whole game is based on kiling mobs..... incredible and insane number of mobs. I remember my lvl 30... dam that crap wanted from me kill 15000 mobs for next lvl.

there are also nice quests... my favorit is complete 1000 eyes of some freekin monsters around river between starting location and second city.... drop rate unbelievable 40% (why unbelievavle? Because it is one of the best drop rates you can find... mostly its much lower).

DaoC, LOTRo, Everquest, Anarchy online, Shadowbane... thats are mmos worthy of time, not that crap.... sorry swis

edit: also forgot legion of Turkish players asking you "Turkmusun?" (national hobby?) and 3 times hacked profile (I am using alphanumeric logins and passwords... I think there is another way how to hack account than keygen)
before I respond to your... unfortunatly somewhat true statements, I'd like to ask if you played before Europe was released? A lot of stuff changed then and it has definitely improved.

oh, and yeah, but this game is free, so no 15$ a month or anything:)
yep before but I dont believe much things changed, all those mad grinding bring them money because they are selling those "double exp" potions for real money.
I play it around every few months or so. It's fun when you're with a bunch of nice people who can say something else besides 'REZ!!!!!?!111!?!!?1?!' ect. But after a while it gets abit..Meh. Its just the same. Quest : Kill this to get this many of that much.
Right, response time! hehe, I'll try my best here.

The game was based on killing mobs. Finishing quests gives you a lot of xp, and yes, the amount you get for killing 1 monster is minimal but once you lvl up it's all worth it. With the new party system after Europe came out you'll get xp really quick and that monster count goes down fairly quick.

The distance, there are skills, speed ups, scrolls you can use, horses, etc. And like I said before, the 1000 goes down and if you have a pet that fights with you that goes down faster. The drop rate, well, it great when you get something and despite the somewhat low rate, the stuff you get is good.

I'm not paying like 15$ a month to play some game when this is perfectly fine for me.:)

Not sure how you got hacked. Don't disclose any info, and beware of phishing sites. The turks are hated by all sro players, mind you I haven't seen much of them recently.

Things did change. Europe has the much better party system where players need to team up with other players who's characters are a different class. Each class has it's unique abilities and together they work really well. Some quests in Europe require you to be in a party in order to finish the quest.

The update also introduced a "penalty" of sorts if you're in a party with another player who's 20 levels different than you, to avoid "grinding" somewhat. Those double exp things, yes, you can buy them with real money, but you get some when you start out and there are quite a few events in which you can get other stuff to help you out. Quest rewards too.

edit/ps: I forgot. The new academy system. High ranked players can start an academy where they take lower leveled players and help them gain xp through some system I'm not so sure of. But you can then graduate from this academy, which helps you lvl up and get xp a lot faster, and the academy master, the player who started it after having graduates gets rewarded with a rare weapon or something like that. I'm not sure how this goes but it's good.

I haven't seen anyone beg for revival, although I do remember that, pretty funny heh'. I always say something like "Would someone be so kind as to revive me please?". Well not always, but I ask nicely and use please. You can also charge people for reviving them hehe.
The quests, well, any mmorpg is based off of them.
But there are new things to do.

You can register with an npc in each town to participate in a capture the flag event that takes place like every half hour.

The triangular conflict. You can be a merchant and bring items from town 1 to town 2 and fight of thieves and stuff. You can be a thief who uses his skills to take down a merchant and his transport, then loot the stuff and use a scroll to return to the thief base and make money that way. Then you can be a hunter who protects merchants and fights of thieves. Depending on what you are, npc's of the other side spawn around you based on how much valuables you have (in the transport) and the outfits look pretty neat. In my 2nd ss you can see my character as a thief.
I also try to rp a bit, my name for starters, and I play with friends. That's what makes this fun. Playing with friends and going quests together and stuff, if not, then yeah, it'd be more boring, but I like it.

edit/ps: I do suggest looking around the site at the new stuff that came out, I would find it atleast worth trying if you haven't expirienced Europe yet because it is a lot of fun.
I play this...one of my favorite games. Only im on the Poseidon server, lvl 70 blader
