Communication to all personnel

CLASSIFICATION : CONFIDENTIEL DEFENSE

Never, in our history, has our service been called to decisive action on so many areas at once, against so many foes, and with so many end goals. It is truly our heure de gloire, and each of your actions in the coming weeks will determine the course of history, and the future of billions.

For the sake of clarity and efficiency, amiral Chanteloup has voiced the need for specific operations, each tailored to a current area of interest to the MRG. Each operation will have its commander, with a possible rotation every month if it is deemed suitable. Opération Talleyrand is the first among these operations. Cliff notes below.

TACTICAL SITUATION : Gallia has struck Liberty with the goal of keeping it busy and unable to directly support Bretonia in its last ditch defense of its homeland. These efforts have proven generally successful, though at a significant cost. With the loss of the diversion's flagship (The Bétheny), only one battlegroup currently remains in Libertonian space, the Carcassonne, positioned deep within California. It is a daring move, and talks of retreating it closer to the border worlds are in progress. But so far, the objective is simple : maximum continued pressure, using morale-shattering hit-and-run attacks.

DESIRED FINAL OUTCOME : put a complete and decisive stop to Libertonian military operations along the Magellan corridor.
PRIORITY 1 : Incapacitation of all immediate threats.
PRIORITY 2 : Shattering of the enemy's morale for the purposes of deterrence and war weariness.
PRIORITY 3 : Keeping a functioning battlegroup for as long as necessary - avoid unnecessary force commitment.

LOCATION : California system.

PREDICTED ENEMY FORCES : large, first-rate military. Danger level is very high. Liberty may be cornered but it's far from beaten and enjoys considerable resources.
REQUIRED ALLIED FORCES : the Carcassonne and her accompanying fleet. No reinforcements planned at this time.

TIME : Until all combat potential has run out, or until further notice.

RULES OF ENGAGEMENT : the Etat-major favours the use of lightning strikes over lumbering capital formations, but priority 1 remains victory on the field.

Regarding the different goals of the Opération, a first raid has been launched in California. In order to not grab more attention on the Carcassone, the raid consisted in attacking the supply lines for Bretonia.

A large squadron of bombers and fighter as well as the gunboat Archeron left the Carcassonne and moved first near Riverside. Then, we moved towards Cortez jump gate. There we surprised a whole Ageira convoy which was coming back from Bretonia with Beryllium as cargo. One tried to run and our bombers engaged it. Seeing no chance against us, the transports surrendered and accepted to drop their cargo.

Shortly after that, we met near Los Angeles two Libertonians pirates. We assembled our forces and the Navy finally arrived several minutes later. Some Bounty Hunters reached the area and claimed their hostlities towards the Rogues. The Navy forces with two battleships, one gunboat, and one fighter attacked us. The gunboat has been quickly disabled as well as a civilian gunboat. I destroyed the fighter myself. Our bombers focused on the battleships and succesfully damaged one of them. We have to notice that we lost some of our fighters during the engagement with the reinforcements of the Navy forces.

In order to put a end to this battle, the Sombre Destin joined the party with a repair ship. The battleship quickly destroyed a battlecruiser and inflicted damage to another battleship. Sadly, our repair ship didn't survive the battle, destroyed by a Bretonian gunboat. This one suffered the same fate few seconds later by the Sombre Destin. We decided to retreat to the Carcassonne as our Valor was damaged.

This raid has been a great success, interrupting a short moment the supply lines and claiming victory with minimal losses against an enemy far superior in number.

Subject: Give a blow to New York

The Battlegroup Carcassonne is slowly gathering more supplies and forces for the next advance deeper in California. Given the previous raid in the system has been a success, I decided it was time to exploit the potential passive situation of the Navy within the system to organize a strike on the capital system of Liberty, New York.

I have insisted to the Etat-Major in order to have at our disposition another squadron ready to do this risky but crucial action. The Marauders squadron helped by other assets under à Gallic Royal Intelligence identification will attack New York and destroy EVERY ships considered as hostile to the Crown within the system.

This strike must bring the chaos to the Libertonians. What are they going to think when they see Gallic ships near their homeworld planet? Our attack won't impact so much the Libertonians efforts. But we are going to break their moral.

Feu à volonté, mes amis!

As planned the attack on New York has bean launched. The Marauder squadron with one gunboat and 3 fighters and bombers moved towards the main system of Liberty. Finally, so many years after the beginning de la Grande Reconquête, that is the first time that a Gallic vanguard managed successfully to enter in the Liberty homeworld.

The vanguard quickly moved out the enemy scanners and decided to lock the gate leading to a certain system named Colorado. There, the squadron noticed a very high activity, especially transports. A civilian tanker appeared and imediately opened fire on the gunboat. He suffered the consequences of his foolish action.

Later, a pirate named Moraxus came. Despite being a pirate, he shown a great symphaty for us and even offered his help to fight the Liberty Navy. Another transport coming from Colorado and hauling equipments directly for Aland has been intercepted. He didn't comply and tried to escape. Obviously that was a desperate act and the Marauder destroyed it.

The Gallic ships moved deeper in the system and one of the fighter get attacked by a Rogue ship. Our fighter removed him easily. Then they stopped a Libertonian Liner, with a Rheinlander commandant, very angry and probably drunk, not getting anything of the situation. Our pilots did a nice propaganda and they decided to let him. To finish an Ageira transport get trapped and seriously damaged but it managed to escape.

The squadron is back to Carcassonne and didn't suffer losses.
