Cardamine

Cardamine is a biological substance on Malta supposedly left by Daam'K'Vosh. It can me embedded into anything consumable or light enough for it to be carried by. As such, Malta is entirely covered in slight concentration of Cardamine, only increased around fields where it grows. Anyone whose DNA contains Cardamine strands are forever chained to Malta.

It affects the way brain's serotonine system works by replacing the chemicals for its own that are better in carrying information exchange. Brain is a very adaptive machine and quickly gets used to this "boost". Any removal of the substance causes the brain to go into shock and can be alleviated only be introducing Cardamine back. Effects on the body include increased power and reaction times. Cardamine boosts oxygen-blood-body exchange and oxygen preservation within the muscles.

When the objective is to make humans addicted to the Cardamine. It's advised to use similar environment as on Malta but increase the concentration by 5% every 12 hours for the human body to adapt. Each body is slightly different and values should be adjusted according to the BPM rate and temperature. Physical exercise is not only advised, but required for thorough Cardamine infusion into the body. Make sure the subjects are fed well enough for their power to restore, along with 8 hours of sleep. After the additional Cardamine concentration reaches 100%, which is usually 10 days, the subjects should be fully addicted and dependant. Be aware that there has been a subject that that showed symptoms of allergic reaction, fortunately, it died quickly.

Subjects undergo tissue decomposition if Cardamine concentration is very high (even for Maltese) and cause in most cases an eventual death due to blood loss and skin rupture.
