In the RS press hall there is chatter from the media representatives and representatives of various businesses and individuals. The podium stands empty with cameras placed in front before the stage, numerous microphones on the podium and the RS logo spread in the background with the Kruger logo and DHC logo on either side.

The chatter quietens down as they realize someone is in the stage looking down at them. Camera men quickly start broadcasting.

Good day everyone present here today. My name is Agatha, Republican Shipping prototype AI. Please note that the heads of Kruger, Daumann Heavy Construction, Republican Shipping, and a Representative of Rheinland Government will be with you shortly. But before they come out, I need to inform you that due to your media coverage, this will be live across Sirius, and open to public questions from within Rheinland and across Sirius. Please note that who ever wants to ask a question will need to state their name and position before hand, and then they may ask questions pertaining to the topic on point.

I will be monitoring the broadcast, and video feeds from people not here today to ensure that only people in good standing with their respective houses may participate. We do anticipate there may be attempts from outlaws to try disrupt this conference, but their attempts will be foiled as the incoming signal will be coded and recoded by myself randomly throughout the conference. I can safely assure you that all attempts will fail.

Agatha fades away as the representatives walk on stage with Mr Mayer leading the way. Mr Mayer walks to the podium and raises his hand to wave to the people present. Mr Mannlicher, Mr Kramer, Miss von Thielau and Mr von Amensen stand on either side of him.

Mr Mayer coughs into his hand, and starts his speech.

Guten tag people of Rheinland, good day to the media present here today, and everyone watching across Sirius. As im sure you all have heard, planet New London was attacked recently with countless lives lost, and huge damage to infrastructure. As well as a planetary bombardment of Planet Leeds. Innocent lives have been lost. I personally dont know if there is Gallain citizens on Leeds with Bretonian citizens, or just Bretonian. But it doesnt matter. A life is a life, death comes for us all irrespective of where we are from.

I have contacted the Bretonian government to give them assurance that Republican Shipping is not looking away while their people suffer, but rather staring down the barrel of the gun, to help their people. As you all know, Rheinland is a proud nation, Rheinlanders are proud people. We do not ask for help, even when its the only option.

So understanding this, I am not asking Bretonia to ask us for help. I am giving them help whether they want it or not. I have ordered all available vessels to Cambridge System, and informed Bretonia that she will need to prioritise where they want the vessels. These vessels are filled with food parcels, blankets and essentials. I have also ordered all liners, to set their destination to Cambridge system. They will provide as main transports from Leeds and New London to where Bretonia wants to send her people.

I have arranged that the Republican Shipping Security Division to spare as many vessels as possible to provide escort. All who wish to take advantage of this situation, and attempt to pirate these convoys will be faced with deadly force. I will arrange with our Federal Polizei and the Rheinwehr to ensure the free flow of Republican Ships between Bretonia and Rheinland. These vessels will take priority in the trade lanes, so please excuse for any uncalled for stopping of your vessel, as im sure if you were on Leeds or New London, you would want assistance sooner rather than later.

I will be offering the captains of Republican Shipping a danger pay for the time they are in Bretonia as well as free counselling sessions for trauma when they return. I will be sending today, Republican Colossus vessels to every Rheinland capital city on every Rheinland planet. It will be taking donations that us, the people of Rheinland, are willing to give Bretonians. They will be the last vessels to leave for Bretonia.

I call out to Liberty and Kusari Corporations, to accept my challenge. Liberty has been involved in this war, giving military aid to Bretonia. Kusari and Rheinland has been at war, but im not reaching out to Kusari as a Rheinlander, but as a citizen of Sirius. I challenge both of your great corporations, to meet the aid Republican Shipping is giving Bretonia, or better it.

Mr Mayer raises both his hands to the press in front of him, showing the peace sign. He turns and walks away from the podium to allow one of the other representatives with him to take the podium.

Albricht von Amensen, the elderly Senator of the Bundestag emerged from the sidelines to step into the light that bathed the podium. His age was particularly evident today as he hobbled slowly toward the dais. Taking center stage, he raise his weary gaze to meet the eyes of the auditorium. He took several deep breaths, slowly and painstakingly arranging the memory cards in his hands. With a determined straightening of his back, as best as his old frame would allow, he began:

The reported horrific events in Bretonia have shocked us all, and we wish to categorically state that the Rheinland Government condemns and mourns the reported actions with the utmost severity. We urge all parties to approach dialogue to ensure the safety of the massive relief of Humanitarian Aid flowing to the tragedy stricken individuals. Our thoughts are with the families and civilians now in need, and we urge everyone to give to the Humanitarian Disaster Relief Fund!

Erwin Mannlicher stepped up to the podium, pausing to look out at the assembled journalists and press officers before he spoke. He appeared much his usual self, dressed in a simple, but visibly expensive, hand-tailored suit in a soft shade of grey. As he moved, a slight glitter twinkled on the silver cuff-links in the shape of the company logo. Polished as he was, he moved slowly, a hint of a heavy tiredness evident around his eyes. He blinked slowly, taking in the position of the live-recording cameras. Adjusting his tie, he fixed his eyes on a point beyond the small crowd in front of him, and began:

What can I say, that others have not said better? No-one has ever seen a cataclysm of this scale, devastation of this sort.Safe here - at home, away from harm - its hard to imagine what the people on Leeds are feeling now. Some things go beyond belief, beyond politics or business... What sort of a people would we be if we didn't offer a helping hand?

Beginning yesterday the first Daumann ships began the long journey to Bretonia carrying thousands of metric tons of supplies and medicines. We have diverted all available convoys and ships that can be spared to support the evacuation, and deliver much needed relief. I urge you all to give to the public Disaster Relief Fund, and do your part to bring relief to the grief stricken in need of our aid.

With one final look out at the crowd, the Daumann executive stepped away from the podium, indicating for the next person to take his place.

With a brief nod to Val, Kaiser squares his shoulders and head up steps to the microphone. As his gaze , more accustomed to looking into scanners, and view screens than lights and people, crosses the room he taps the mic once , and begins to speak. In his Crisp Kruger uniform, complete with Corporate regalia , Kaiser Kramer head of Kruger Mineralien appears as solid as the rock his company mines,He speaks in a clear gravely voice devoid of emotion.. "Kruger Mineralien is no stranger to the tides of war or the aftermaths. With this i mind... Kruger Mineralien will provide assistance in this relief effort. Kruger will make available to all relief convoys, 2 full escort wings, consisting of 10 combat vessels as security, these ships will also be outfitted to ferry refugees from the surface to the larger transports. Kruger is authorizing all pilots who wish to volunteer clearance to join the relief effort as well We are assigning 2 Colossus class transports to aide in moving refugees to safety. "
Kaiser pauses a moment , "Thank you" He turns and steps down from the podium ........
