Team start Locations:

Nordschnee Elect Raiders (Unioner and Alster Unionist IDs) - 42d Borantiagādo (Farmer's Alliance IDs) Newport Station, Sigma 13.

GMG PMC 'Yanagi no eihei' - Synth Foods Sigma Security Division 'Baker' Gas Miner Naha, Sigma 13.

Roleplay Basis:

Nobody profits from war, it's said, except those who sell weapons, food, and fuel.

With the armies of Sirius marching to the conclusion of the greatest war in human history, H-fuel and food prices have been in perpetual climb since the council first broke through the mines. Synth Foods (the largest sole food producer in Sirius) and the Gas Mining Guild (the largest producer of non-fissile reactor fuel) have made stupendous fiscal resources from the war dependencies of Liberty and Bretonia. Yet with great monopolies comes great disruption; Synth Foods has near-singlehandedly displaced the entire landowning agricultural class sectorwide, with only a few holdouts in Kusari, Rheinland and Bretonia successfully competing with Synth Foods economically. With mass displacement has come mass insurgency, as multi-millions of displaced agriculturalists and farmers accuse Synth Foods of ecosystem capture and economic slavery.

The Gas Mining Guild guild is no less notorious; exercising near executive control over the price of H-fuel in Sirius, the expansionist guild has devoted centuries to claiming near-total monopolisation over the resources of the crow nebula; claiming every part of the Sigmas as the soverign assets of the boardroom, in a level of corporate capture that the newly founded Gallic minarchy could only fantasise of. Billions of Rheinlandic citizens, still embittered by the social anarchy forced upon Rheinland by the outcome of the Eighty Years War, still threaten to light the Sigmas ablaze even after the recent Sigma 21 powersharing agreement, whilst the protectionist Samura has been eyeing the Guild with ever increasing rage. Insurgencies devoted to opposing the increasing offshoring of house wealth into the vast non-state actors of the GMG and SFI have been developing for centuries in Rheinland and Kusari, boyed in their numbers by the wartime revanchism that has sweeped through Sirius in the last decade. The Farmer's Alliance of Kusari and the Syndicate Leagues of Rheinland, keen to coordinate their efforts, have been prevented from conducting joint operations by the flames of the Saigon border crises separating their respective homelands.

Until now.

On the 21st of September, 826 AS, a known underworld informant fed GMG internal information to Unioner raiders known to be working out of the lower Sigmas. The informant spoke of a potential meeting between mid-level executives of GMG and Synth Foods within the Sigma 13 extraction zone - a relatively low density field that had been mostly mined down to its trace gasses. The Unioners, keen to provoke tensions between the Rheinland Republic and the GMG, but otherwise unwilling to encourage conflict between Kusari and Rheinland, leaped at the opportunity to undermine the GMG so close to the historical warzone of the Yanagi pocket. The informant was paid generously - but not generously enough to buy his silence. In response, the informant sold information regarding the strike to the GMG and Synth Foods, who immediately replaced the executive yachts with strike fighter wings. Synth and the GMG calculated that they would be able to ambush the pirate opposition with overwhelming force, lowering the threat to their own convoys in the region.

The corporations miscalculated.

With the Sigma truce lowering tensions within the Rheinland-Kusari underworld, the wily Unioners tipped off their Kusarian equivalents within the Farmer's Alliance, who were equally eager to deliver Synth Foods and the GMG a black eye. Cooperating across house borders for the first time in nearly two years, the Farmer's Alliance and the Munich Unionists rendezvoused at Newport Station, doubling their numbers. Unioner Arbeiters and Farmer's Alliance Mamoru's flew beside each other for the first time in nearly a decade, united by a common adversary. Bringing overwhelming firepower with them, the insurgents were delighted at the prospect of making hostages of the pampered executives they hoped to find.

They were horrified to encounter well-armed strike fighters, instead.

Event Phase:

- The Unioners and the Farmer's Alliance are attempting to disrupt a high-level meeting between Synth Foods and the GMG in Sigma 13. Both Synth Foods and the GMG are aware of the impending strike, and have sortied fighters to intercept them. However, the GMG are unaware of Unioner and Alliance co-operation; both sides have sortied even numbers to the field of engagement.

- Both sides will engage until the other side has no remaining ships.

- Restocking is forbidden.

- New ships may not enter the field of engagement once the battle is joined.

- Dual razors are forbidden to increase fight longevity and prevent instantaneous kills.

Event Rules:

The event is a simple engagement event, without phases or complexity.

The Event requires Slots.

Event Consequences:

Intercorporate Victory (GMG and Synth):

The GMG are emboldened by the tour de force success of their private security arms at entrapping their enemies; not only were the Unioners ensnared, but so too were Samura's guns-for-hire in the Farmer's Alliance. The victory is seen as an affirmation of the GMG's claim to the Sigma thirteen region, and something of a diplomatic boost in their relationship with Kusarian and Rheinlandic federalists alike. The Unioners and the Farmer's Alliance will be less likely to rely on corrupt informants within either company, at least for the near-term, reducing the likelihood of successful piracy interceptions for a short while.

Synth Foods, tickled pink at the prospect of defeating a raid from the two largest threats to their Siriuswide operations at once, are quick to study the famed nebulae combat acumen of their business partners. Vice-versa, the GMG seem increasingly inclined to distribute information on potential piracy sources to their primary supplier of biodomes and domestic resource production. The meeting continues as planned, in an opulent display of wealth and power by two of Sirius's most influential monopolistic juggernauts.

House Protectionists Victory (Farmer's Alliance and Unioners):

After an arduous battle, the Farmer's Alliance and the Unioners wrestle down the paramilitaries of the notoriously well trained Gas Miner's Guild and their Synth Foods allies in their home territory. Emboldened, the surviving aggressors go on to damage several deep-exposure extractor units throughout the trace remains of the Sigma 13 field, ultimately doing very little to the Guild's overall profits but delivering a major loss of face and inflicting a small fortune of insurance premiums across the private security arms of both enterprises. The GMG are enraged that their attempt to entrap the pirates was ultimately unsuccessful, raising tension amidst the postwar detente. GMG and Synth Foods contractors both blame the other after various creative interpretations of the combat data, although any disagreement between the corporations are swiftly buried as the realities of biodome and fuel dependency exert themselves. The Unioners and the Farmer's alliance continue to attempt to corrupt their competitors, hoping to encourage information leaks within the boardrooms of their faceless opposition. Both sides are disappointing by the bogus information, but retrieve a wealth of news coverage and homeland support as news of the daring dogfight fills the Sirius News Network. Both movements are likely to continue common operations in the Sigmas.

Slots updated. Keep them coming, folks. It would be great to see some Synth or GMG forces here. The event organisers are willing to fund people to make Synth Food fighters.
This is at the same time as another Event, maybe postpone it for a bit?
