Ah! Captain Latif, konnichiwa!

Loud and clear, captain, loud and clear. I must admit I did not
expect such a quick call... Did you make up your mind, or are
you just testing equipment?

Good! The proxy works well as it seems so our conversation would be hard to be tracked for 'cybersecurity' or whatever cyber-police have called themselves.

I had a pleasure to discuss with you a matter of modern times and it was absolutely a pleasure to do it without a threat to being blasted, so why not to proceed our nice conversations? Unfortunately, I dislike tea so we will have no pleasure to drink it but if you want - we can do it with a cup of coffee. Even if we will drink it without a meet in flesh and blood.

I hope you mind it too?

You just wanna talk? I suppose we could... I am bloody curious what is is that you want to tell me that makes you soooo scared of cyber-cops nailing it! Signal may fade away from time to time, though. Believe it or not, I'm a little busy here!

*A monotone rumble can be heard in the background, deafened by occasional clicks and radio chatter. You conclude that the speaker is piloting a ship, and uses a mobile terminal to communicate*

A coffie you say? Nah, I'll pass on that.

*You pick up that a bottle of some sort was just opened in the cockpit*

Now, captain, where were we?

I do not scared of cyberpolice. We do not talk about something forbidden right now, haven't so? Just you to notify: they or LSF will keep an eye on really bad things, not a polite conversation between two individuals.

Cannot be sure isn't this conversation are under LSF eye but for now, we're just chatting. So, no coffee? Sad to hear. Was hoping to know at least how are you looking.

We were stopped at a discussion about the current place of small corporations or companies at the world full of mastodonts. I do remind you that my position is there no place for small corporations within house space, especially in Liberty where the most popular business directions are already taken.

Not to say that I had conversations with different people and every one of them had their own opinion about it so I would like to ask: What do you think about it? Is there a place for small corporations in Liberty or this is a state of corporations in control. One big conglomerate which controls everything within its territory.

Place for small business in Liberty?! *The speaker laughs* Dream on, tomodachi, the truth is that the game has been rigged before it even started!

You mentioned yourself a bit earlier that every "mastodon" takes care of separate branch of economy, thus there is no competition between them. Why do you think it was made this way? What for? I'll tell you. CONTROL is the word. The government wishes to control the economy, and does so through corps.

Little guy is not supposed to get rich and powerfull, because he might do something wiseguys disapprove of. Just look what they did to the Order, after all they have done, mind you. Declared terrorists. Why? Because it was the one organization they couldn't control!

And don't think it's just Liberty, same sh*t happends everywhere. Kusari, Bretionia, Rhineland. The only reason the slave labor is actually banned is be...

*Just as the speaker was about to finish, an autopilot's voice assistant aired a warning that the trade lane ahead has been disabled.*

Sh*t, hold on for a sec.

A believer in the conspiracy theory, huh?

You speak a lot about 'heroes of the past' but the truth is pretty simple - the Order's time is gone. Their actions are not enough to keep the Nomads' menace and more often and often times these aliens appear in Liberty space. I do believe the Order have forgotten their primary goal and might be busy somewhere in Taus or Omegas, fighting with their 'secondary' enemies as the Outcasts or these mutants' allies.

Not to say about the Core who just wants more and more power to create their small 'fascistic' dream in Omicrons. Actually, similar to Order: they do care only about themselves.

The people are left for themselves and only one thing we can do - this is taking a gun and protect ourselves with it.

You can ask how can I know and I will answer you - I have seen it myself. As Ageira employee I was travelling the world, doing Ageira shipping contracts and was looking for understanding. I have seen a lot of things: from an outcast who tried to save a damaged zoner 'cruiser' and escorted it to freeport under heavy fire to scummy civilian convoy which attacked another civilian convoy. The world is not so simple and not built on the conspiracy between 'mastodonts' but it contains a power of powerfuls and every single soul in this damn space. I believe you got what I mean.

But well I still cannot be sure that I know it as the right: as I said, the world is not simple as it can look and I can be mistaken.

*The speaker can be heard laughing maniacally*

All hail the house govs, the guardians of morality! Come on, are you saying that the cops are free to cap someonewhen they think that the guy just got too greedy? Because that is the punishment for flying colors of quote - end - quote heroes of the past. You can't be serious!

Oh! Kuso!

*Loud engine noise of a passing ship could be heard, likely a near-miss*

DID YOU STEAL YOUR LICENSE?!

... Anyway, that's no conspiracy, matey! Damnit, just look at the section 2-2 of Kusari Legal codex. Any ship, just SUSPECTED of piracy can be evicted into deep space. Think about it. Just a SUSPICION. An officer has a bad mood and POOF! You're gone forever! That law was passed just on one purpose, so that the government could have a right to remove any ship they wish from their space. ANY!

By the way, no one is talking about the wole world here. You've asked about Houses, so you got my answer about the houses. There is a whole, probably an infinite world beyond their little bubble. Far more complex and colorful, as you noticed.

Also, You're damn right that if you won't take freedom and safety into your own hands, then no one else will... because why the hell would they, huh?

The man on the other side of the screen looks relaxed and a bit drunk. Anthony has a bottle of beer in his hand but he is not drinking it during the transmission. However, Anthony looks really interested to discuss the conversation's topic.

I suppose that can answer this pretty rhetoric question.

So, I do believe - a very small amount of people wants to be an outsider and hence most of us will keep obeying a government of its house. It gives us a feeling of stability and protection, a simple way to create a bubble for society to live within.

Let me be cynic: the society separated from each other and locked in these bubbles. Every planet separated from each one and the only thing which connects them, except the House law or police, it's commerce. Every day a large number and amount of goods flying between planets. Independent merchants aka freelancers, corporations' transports, et cetera. I hope you got where I lead?

It is not a big secret that most people never left their home planets to see something far beyond than a local beach or an entertainment centre in the city. There's about 60% of all living actually ever seen a native planet from an orbit and a less of them actually ever left a stellar system they used to born in. It's a result of my own small research, to be honest. Most of working-class just sitting on planets and keep working from day to day to feed our pretty capitalistic monster and keep the system working fine. There's nothing shameful to be a part of it, I suppose. It keeps things balanced and hence humanity won't fell in the chaos of anarchy but at the very time, it makes people be literally a bio-robots or even worse.

What's about Kusari? I never was there for a long. Just passing through. Large space plants and other facilities, many fancy and I sure - expensive ships. Especially a private yachts. It makes me think that Kusari is a state of rich people but I will never believe there are no poor people because they exist everywhere.

Actually, can you tell me more about Kusari? I do wonder if their society and would be great to hear about it from first lips, I suppose.

Latif stopped to speak for a while. He looks directly at the camera: it's understandable that the man shamed a bit. Anthony tentatively scratches his beard before proceed to speak.

I hope I haven't bored you with my philosophy. Please, forgive me. I guess I'm drunk. Too much beer, you know. But it is really cool to have somebody with whom I can discuss such things, you know.

F*ck bubbles. Government so big you have to travel light years to escape it. ... Bloody hell, what a time to live in.

*Soft creeking of flight seat could be heard in the background*

Can't imagine living like this, just on one world, never seeing what sirius has to offer. Like pigs. You know that pigs are unable to look up? Unaware of sky's existence, all damn life. Just a loose thought, that one.

You know what? Anarchy doesn't sound so bad if being a living robot is the other option. The f*ck is this kind of life?! You are safe, and well fed, so what?! That's not the point!

Anyway...

Kusari... The Kusari is like that, too. Just way worse. You see all kind of fancy ships there because we ... they don't value modesty, unlike like the rest of houses. Kusarian gets his good boy points by showing excellence, perfection. Another thing is the bloody shame culture. In short, do something wrog, say something unapproporiate, and you're dead, as far as society is concerned. So there you go. You start your rat race as a kid, at school. Then, you live working for 12 hours a day, too afraid to speek up, or even complain about anything. It's hell.

Labour movements were never big in kusari, too. Problem of poverty is simply swept under the rug. The poor should not complain, but work their asses of, just like the rest.

Oh, and another thing. There are no criminals in Kusari, no no no. Every pirate fights for honor and tradition. Blood Dragons didn't pirate you just to get your stuff, it was just another step to protect kusari from your filthy influence. Hogosha are not your regular everyday mobsters, that pimping you saw at space casino was done to protect kusarian values and traditions... So ... that, and many more spineless pretenciousness.

Man, things like that are discussed between friends. You don't have any? Whelp, I was that close to feeling sorry for you.

*The speaker laughs*

Cheers, mate.

*Loud hit was audible in the message. The speaker most likely punched his glass bottle onto communication terminal*
