Would it be a possibilityfor you to use a router? They are mostly better than any software firewalls out there if you configure them right.
(Okay, except iptables teh uber f1rew4ll:P)
If not... there's the program 'ZoneAlarm'. Maybe you want to try this one.

i use sygate personal firewall and it works good with FL

Yeah, me too, no problems with it, didn't even have to add an exception for fl myself, it just prompted me with it

Aye, that 'ZoneAlarm' works great, it detects -too- much harmful stuff coming through.:)

Far as I know, Zone-Alarm, as mentioned above, doesn't conflict with Freelancer, at least it doesn't for me but I'm on Xp. Comodo is also another firewall I use on the laptop which IS vista, but don't run Free on that.
