Hi,

My real name is Daniel, my in-game and forum name will be Swady.

Im 37 and from Ireland, i have played freelancer many moons ago, about 15 years or so, only played on normal servers tho, never on a modded and never roleplayed freelancer so any tips or help to get me going would be received with great thanks.

Look forward to spending some time on Discovery, exploring and hopefully get to know some fellow Freelancers.

See you in-game
Welcome man, I just came back myself. But really, this community is awesome and the RP can be allot of fun. I'd check around for groups to join, or look at the LFG part of the forum, see if you can find some people to play with.

Best wishes!
Welcome to discovery! Feel free to strike up a conversation with any OS&C tagged ships you see, either in role play or asking for help out of character (for the later, open a private comm and preface it with //). And if you get the urge to pilot some luxury ships, we're always recruiting!

Thanks for the offer of recruit, much appreciated but im going to solo for a few days and just explore and stuff just to get the feel of things before i decide about factions and stuff,

Might be abit of a nood question here but can you explain what you mean by - (for the later, open a private comm and preface it with //), i dont understand what you mean by it tbh, sorry.

Thanks.

Thanks.

You should type // before any out-of-character (OOC for short) messages - i.e. those in which you speak for yourself, not your in-game character - just so people know you are not roleplaying. Messages asking for help with the game fall under this category.
Since it is usually not allowed to send OOC messages in the local chat (the one all players in the area can see), you should send them in private.

To do so, you can either:

a) Press Y and select the player you want to address from the list <- works for players in other systems

b) Click on the player's ship and type in the chat: /t your message <- works only for players you can see and select on your radar

The /t command is used to send private messages.
If someone sends private message to you first, you can reply to that person in private with the /r command before your message.

Hope this helps Wink
