The Union of Kusari Farmer Communes - Nouren - is a political and social movement mostly composed by farmers and other rural workers, who distanced themselves from the traditional Samura-aligned Farmers Alliance structures and set out to organize the rural communities in Kusari territories into communes, with a focus on agricultural preservation and primacy, greatly expanded local autonomy, and protection against large corporate or authoritarian control from state or non-state actors.
For the defence and preservation of the Nouren against outside aggression, as well as pressuring their demands through force, have created militia groups based on the old Farmer Alliance radical cells, and rebranded as the Farmer Tiger Corps.
Currently the movement seeks to release its communities from the yoke of the Samura backed lobbies, and to implement policies that aggressively resist the usurpation of the food market by foreign enterprises and corporate elites. They also resent the central government and consider it unjust, for failing to provide a more direct representation of the people’s wills, and for the long-standing neglect of the rural communities plight in favour of urban development and prosperity.
The Nouren goals include profound changes on the existing Farmer Alliance organization, and looks for cooperation with the Sirius Coalition for a more socialist society. It has also softened its stance against the Blood Dragons and independent groups in and around Kusari, and attempts to find a way to solve conflicts in their goals and ideologies.

The Story so far-
The Farmers Alliance of Kusari is one of the oldest populist movements in Kusari, linking long-standing cultural distrust of foreign influences, promotion of Kusari “way of life” and praise of the contributions of the lower classes of society on the greatness of the House. All undersigned by the political and economical shadow that the giant Samura Industries projected throughout centuries of Kusari history.
The FA movement had many highs and lows, exerting influence as a lobby during most of the Imperial Regime, suffering persecution and neglect during the Republic era of Kusari, seeing their efforts and achievements sidelined by the following reconciliation and reform of the Empire of Kusari back into power. The Republican era and Kishiro ongoing amiable relations with foreign corporations and attempts of “modernizing” agriculture practices disregarding the human component, through the development of robocultivars for domestic and foreign markets, aggravated the situation. Where Samura influence waned, the Farmers struggled more fervently against the decay of society. Where Samura power waxed, the farmers concerns were drowned by promises of more funds and demands of petty assaults against competitors, the benefit that it would bring to the farmers plight unknown.
The times were also changing, not just in Kusari, but abroad as well. Samura planning and Hogosha contacts had not resulted in sufficient coordination with the Corsairs, and the long planned defensive measures on planet Kurile had decayed to such a level that could not resist the sudden Gas Miners Guild invasion long enough to mount a retaliatory force. Samura weakness in asserting its possessions, and Kusari being focused on the ongoing military crisis between Imperial exiles and republican governmental forces meant that it was unwilling to antagonise its neighbour over the remote planet issue.
Elsewhere, developments in Rheinland signalled the fall of the ideological aligned LWB in their struggle against the capitalist exploitation, and the dissolution of the farmers movement committee, it’s militants dispersed throughout the Rheinland underworld. Their fight and existence disappeared everywhere but textbooks and old veteran recollections.
In Bretonia, the continuation of the war against Gallia resulted in severe setbacks of the Gaian cause, with an ultimately disastrous outcome in Leeds, and planet Gaia sanctuary status finally breached under the necessities and whims of belligerent forces.
These events, combined with years of weakened Farmer Alliance and Samura leadership, have caused concern among the lower ranks, with informal discussions about the future of the Farmers Alliance being conducted.
A new way
Discussions took an unexpected turn when on early Spring 827 A.S. news of unprecedented hostile activities began appearing in the Kyushu system. Soon Farmer Alliance units encounter and engage elements of the Sirius Coalition, recognizing their collaborating nature with the Blood Dragons, and the threat of foreign influences that Samura doctrine had long taught them to hate. Some members, however, caught glimpses of the coalition transmissions and open channel propaganda broadcasts during their operations, and a few would feel empathy between some of the foreigners lofty idealisms and their community struggles. Embedded in a tradition forged by Samura, Kusari way of life, and the shock of Liberty aggressive capitalism, old concepts of socialism were alien and never fully explored by the peasantry.
Small fringes of the Farmers Alliance radical movement, already itself a minority of the agricultural population of Kusari, began experimenting with new schools of thought. Some saw fit to defect the Samura backed organization and join the ranks of the foreign coalition, others decided to stay and build up support and influence, to create a renewed movement for the farmers, fishers, and other rural workers of Kusari.
Free from the shackles of corporate interests, both domestic and foreign. Free from the whims of tyrants and entrenched elites.
