Full Version: Thruster mounting question

Greetings GMs / community,

I am seeking an official statement on the rules regarding the usage of thrusters.

1) [Main Question]: Do equipment/technology RP usage apply to ship thruster mounting?

2) [Sub-Question 1]: Would a ship be against the Server Rules if it uses a thruster belonging to a faction hostile to its ID?

3) [Sub-Question 2]: Would a fighter ship be against the Server Rules if it uses a Capital Ship Thruster?

Please clarify when possible, for there to be an official reference on the matter (this thread).

Thanks,
Sky
No.
You are talking about Thrusters and not engines, yes?
No Thrusters are tied to factions, nor are they restricted by ship class, nor rules.
The Light Capital Ship Thruster takes 15 cargo space, and the Capital Ship Thruster takes 25. You can mount them on any ship with the space, but it isn't generally advisable to do so since the Light merely equals the power of a normal thruster, while the Capital is inferior. They have higher hit points so capital ships are less likely to lose their thruster to missiles, something that isn't likely to happen to small ships.

Edit: Ninja'd by Loggen. There's your longer explanation, though.
