Here is a proposition that wont change much of anything in the game but it might bring a little variety to this Good Old Game. The idea is to make 10, or whatever the number, special weapons sound effects that can be purchased for sci data only. Create or download several gun sound effects and put sci data price to lets say 50, or whatever the number, and add a bit of excitement. Maybe it is a good idea, maybe not, just brainstorming here.

I'd be happy if my Thumper turrets didn't have the mortar turret model while shooting fairy dust.

Many more can be found on many sample sound effects pages, or they can be created. So the next time you sit in your ship of choice and you have your weapon of destruction powered up, your enemy trembling in front of you, enjoy the awesome sounds while making mince meat from your discord buddies.
