IDF loses expensive new station, shares down 7% in post close trading

Planet Curacao - Orbital Spa and Cruise was able to confirm today the fall of La Charite Spaceport to Kusari Navy Special Operations following a DECLARATION OF WAR (Click To Read Here) from the Kusari Empire. IDF after investing untold billions of credits in building the new facility, sometimes touted as the company's Siruis Headquarters, has yet to issue a statement on the takeover. With the station falling under the control of the Kusari Navy they will no doubt turn their sights on the Lorraine System. The Luxury Liner Belleville, only one of two luxury liners in the entirety of IDF, is reportedly still operating at full capacity despite the great danger to guests of the Kusari Navy readying an assault onto Lorraine and Planet Metz itself. It will be a wonder if IDF will be able to weather the impending economic downturn that comes with Gallia falling into isolation and economic blockade once again.

Kusari expansion additionally continued in the Tau 31 system with Barra Anchorage reportedly falling under attack earlier this morning as told by miners aboard the nearby Holeman Outpost; still thankfully under Guild Control. While it is hoped that the blockade will exempt passenger travel there has been no official word as of yet. This uncertainty will no doubt hamper the resort's first quarterly earnings report. Which initially were expected to be strong given the great demand for passenger service into Gallia.

Freeport 9, say hello to your new Orbital Field Office!

Freeport 9 - Omicron Theta - Orbital Spa and Cruise is pleased to announce the opening of a field office on Freeport 9. While not only providing a point of contact for eager Freeport denizens to book a flight to the Hawaii. This office will also function as a R&R center for Orbital Pilots researching route viability here on the edge.

While there was little fanfare at the opening of the new office, located in section 4F. We were able to confirm that the first shuttle arrived on 9 earlier this afternoon with a number of guests eager to explore this little corner of the edge. Administrator Sun Koken was quoted as saying “good luck with your (OS&C’s) endeavours” before performing a customary buddhist bow and returning to her duties.

While service is expected to initially only consist of two flights a month. The flights will have a four day layover allowing guests ample time to see the sights around Theta before returning. Or should they choose they can rent accommodations aboard 9 for a modest fee from the Zoners and remain for a longer period of time.

More Tickets, More Flights, More Seats!

Freeport 9 - Omicron Theta - Orbital Spa and Cruise is pleased to announce today the winner of “The Big Survey”! So without further ado Congratulations Frederic who was randomly chosen out of the many many submitted survey results. Remember, don’t spend it all in one place!

In other happy news Orbital also confirmed earlier this afternoon that flights to Freeport 9 would be doubled in the coming days from only twice a month to a weekly service. “Even though we launched this service only a week ago we have already been booked solid clear to the end of next month” James Blackwood, Sub-Director for Triton Expeditions, said at this afternoons briefing aboard the Hawaii. “With the uptick in demand” he continued “we have naturally increased service and are now running weekly service to Freeport 9.”

Not everyone is excited about Orbitals appearance upon the edge however. “Time and again letting outsiders in have led to our downfall” one angry Freeport 9 recident wrote to us here at the Gazette. “First Erie, then Freeport 2, then Gran Canaria. Again, again, and again when we allow any outsiders into any of our homes it leads to problems with their enemies, not ours, THEIRS!” The letter then took a jab at the Freeport Administrator, Sun Koken. “And this administrator of ours, who is supposed to look out for our interests has now exposed us to all of the turmoil and strife that comes with having a corporation involved in our home, they need to be sent packing now!” Their letter, which was delicately affixed to a brick thrown through our window, was sadly unsigned.

Others however were slightly more indifferent "I recently saw more OS&C vessels appear in the Nomad Worlds.” Luna Lund, an Omicron Zoner on the Freeport 9 public message board. “Are those civilians really sure they should be touring systems as dangerous as these? The Nomads grow ever more restless by the day and now they show up? I better hope they have a tight security detail, or they will be wiped out like all others who ventured here unprepared."

No doubt to gain a more favorable view from the Theta community Orbital also was announced today to be a key sponsor for a MedForce Enterprise Sirius-wide Medical Conference.

LPI and Orbital Play the Blame Game, Citizen Oversite Demanded

Freeport 9 - Omicron Theta - After an apparent misunderstanding, a clear lack of detective work, and alleged threats being traded this reporter has exclusively learned this evening about a newly founded Liberty Lobby Group, the Liberty Innocence Project.

In our interview James went on a tirade across a variety of subjects involving the Liberty Police but the general theme was clear. Abuse of Police Power. “Police officers are tasked with making our society safe.” James began, “Sometimes their zeal leads them to use their power to make a case that otherwise would not be triable. An officer’s eagerness to see justice done can potentially lead to great injustice.” he continued. “Exacerbating the issue is that other officers, and the public at large, are often reluctant to report misconduct because of their loyalty to fellow officers, or from perceived threat retribution. So today I will make a stand.”

And readers, James did ask me to make it clear he spent the duration of his interview standing and talking to me, despite the interview taking place in my office with no other witnesses. “Today I have set aside 100 million credits to found the Liberty Innocence Project. The organization's goal is to introduce Police Reforms to LPI.” He continued. “We have 3 major demands. First, the creation of an independent inspector body to investigate police misconduct. Second, create a requirement for the Liberty Government to establish board certification with minimum education and training requirements for LPI officers. Third, refocus police resources on training, de-escalation, and community building.”

While, in this reporter's opinion, 100 million is but a drip in the bucket that is lobby funding within the Liberty Government all grand causes have small humble roots. While many in Delta welcome a return to the normalcy regular patrols provide. Rumors broke out in speculation as to what the Core, an already extensively funded organization, could be raising capital for. From the reasonable. Simple tax collection to contribute to current operations here and aboard. To the absurd, a planet cracking super-weapon the likes of which even the Nomads would fear. One rumor even speculated that the proclamation was also apart of a Core lead takeover of the Zoner Iridium Market by bulldozing unsanctioned mining facilities. While Freeport 11, and its accompanying Fort, were explicitly excluded. There is a feeling it's just a matter of when, not if, the Core will resume aggression towards the other minor powers of the system.

The Edge More Profitable Than Expected

Freeport 9 - Omicron Theta - Often touted as Orbitals 2nd class service, Triton Expeditions posted a record 210 million quarterly profit on Friday that blew past analysts’ expectations. TE wrapped up third quarter results for the Liberty Sector that shook out along expected lines. James Blackwood, Tritons number two, cautioned that TE’s record-setting profits would be hard to repeat in the coming quarters.

“Clearly our expansion of the Edge World Service led by The Stagecoach helped meet these record third quarter results along with our most recent expansion of routes, including the reintroduction of the favorted Zoner passenger route, The Pilgrim's Path. It should be noted that while this increase in revenue is welcome TE likely will only increase next quarters profits at a more reasonable 2.5-4.5% as we currently have no further plans for introducing any further Edge World routes until further passenger studies are conducted.”

Trading powerhouse Interspace Commerce appeared to fare better than Universal Shipping Incorporated, but that didn’t stop USI from entering a joint bid for the Bretionia Auction of Aland Shipyard with Orbital Spa and Cruise at 100 billion credits in month two of Q3 in a clear push to diversify revenue streams to provide balance against the unpredictability of the transportation market. While the auction has since closed there has been no official announcement yet from the Crown on who the shipyards new owner will be.

Passengers Claim that Bangers Receive Better Treatment

Lewes Shipping Platform - Tau 31 - In a rare look at secondary travel options within Bretiona the one and only Stagecoach came across an appalling sight earlier this evening. An independent shipper, by the name of Bonza, with shipping containers stuffed full of passengers from New London. While other civilized houses, such as Liberty, have regulations regarding passenger transport within their controlled territories. Bretionia does not. Leading to these inhumane conditions to be endured by the poorest of the poor.

While it is claimed that the original Bretonian Charter of Interstellar Law contained regulations regarding passenger safety and comfort many of these regulations were done away with as Gallia marched on Leeds in order to expedite the evacuation of as many of her citizens as possible. But with the close of the war many are starting to wonder if these regulations will make a return, especially in light of colonization efforts on Harris.

Normally regarded as a tongue in cheek joke among Rhinelanders to its existence this reporter will be the first to tell you that this is NO JOKE. I have SEEN what there is to saw. You may be asking yourself, how did such a suave, and handsome fella such as myself manage to penetrate Orbitals EXTENTIVE and robust security? It was really quite simple I did something NO one ELSE thought of! I walked right in to one of the Orbital transports. WALKED like I owned the place.

Course your old buddy ol' pal Tom just couldn't hang out like I ACTUALLY owned the place. After finding a rather homely storage create to wedge myself into it was just a matter of waiting, after all where else would a transport BRIMMINGwith alcohol be bound!?

And Folks, it was worth the RISK and the wAit. It....it brought a tear to my eye. A stunning system comprised of just the most BEAU-tiful purple little star, and a loan planet. Hanging like the string that is my sanity on the inky blackness of space. An azure ball. No major noticeable land masses. Just idyllic little islands and archipelagos stretching across the sunlit side of the planet. Course the transport I was on wasn't bound to ACTUALLY land on the planet. Ol' Tom couldn't have it that easy. Not that it needs to be easy, if its to easy after all who will be impressed. So unfortunately I only got a few glimpses of the Bielefeld system before the transport I was on shuttered to a stop in a no doubt orbiting Orbital...orbity....orbit....station...

If your wondering if I was caught, of course the answer is NO. I skedaddled my way across to a transport being readied to leave and I hitched a ride rrrrrriiiight on back to where I started. Next time Ol' Tom will have his camera yessiree. you'll see....YOU'LL ALL SEE

Orbital Donates Credits to MFE

Planet Pygar - Omicron Theta System - Orbital Spa and Cruise set another record today. This time for a record number of donated credits fundraised for local medical enterprise group, Med-Force. Working diligently Orbital set up a fundraiser on our recently moved Tottori Luxury Liner Maldives. Our generous guests gave a record setting 74,318,410 credits which with Management Matching Donation comes to a grand total amount of 148,636,820 credits, which I'm told will be able to buy a little over 7.8 trillion grains of rice, which would be more rice than what any other entity has donated.

Reaching out to several local doctors we managed to bribe get some colorful insight on what Orbitals Patrons should expect with their donation.
