Background

The New London Blitz in 742 AGS

In 733 AGS, the Kingdom of Gallia interrupted the Tau War between Bretonia and Kusari. The resulting conflict lasted almost 10 years. It spanned the Taus, most of Bretonia, a part of Liberty, and even echoed in the Omegas. The Gallic War culminated in the New London Blitz in 742 AGS. At a great cost, and with the help of all their allies, Bretonia repelled that attack. That was the beginning of the end for the war.

Pushed back from New London, the Gallic Royal Navy made the only logical choice: secure their conquests and deal as much damage to Bretonia as possible to deter any immediate reprisal. That resulted in the Glassing of Leeds. For a week straight, Triumph-class destroyers bombarded the planet, methodically cleansing it of any traces of Bretonian resistance, infrastructure, and any unlucky souls who got stranded on the surface.

In the meantime, the Council capitalized on the absence of the bulk of the Navy in Gallia. The rebels marched through Picardy, Orleanais, and Provence straight to planet New Paris. Scared of the possible consequences of the revolution, many people evacuated to the newly-conquered Bretonian systems. King Charles XI disappeared from the scene around the same time; presumed comatose after the attack on his liner by the Maquis.

New Paris was about to become a second New London, with Council and Royal Navy fleets clashing in orbit. The ceasefire was announced over the capital of Gallia in the late summer of 742 AGS. It was meant to end the Second Gallic War. However, the Royalist forces still Sirius refused to lay down their weapons and recognize the authority of the new Gallic regime.

The Gallic forces remaining in Sirius formed their own splinter state. This Gallic Royal Enclave was a military junta, run by high-ranking officers of the Gallic Royal Navy and Intelligence. The Enclave refused to surrender to Bretonia or make peace with the Council, despite all the challenges.

And the challenges were many. The colony on planet Gaia (rechristened Bordeaux) was still fledging. The fleets were battle-hardened but had taken some losses. A new command hierarchy had to be established. But most importantly, not everyone was willing to follow the King's last orders to secure the Hebrides.

Contre-Amiral Daniel d'Argenlieu convinced a few high-ranking officers to leave the Gallic conquests and return to Burgundy. When word got out, those still loyal to the King ambushed the retreating forces, deeming them traitors. Dubbed the Fratricide by Contre-Amiral d'Argenlieu, that event drew the wedge between the Royal Enclave and the fledging Gallic Confederacy.

What followed was a stalemate with Gallia and Bretonia. The Enclave sought to make connections with other groups disillusioned with the new authorities of Gallia. One such power, a corporation called Montluc Advanced Engineering, became a staunch supporter of the Enclave (albeit not publicly). With their help dug in, fortified its defences, and accelerated the development of their territories.

Although lacking the resources and military power of the old Gallic Royal Navy, the Enclave remained a force to be reckoned with. The attacks on a Bretonian station in Omega-49 and the so-called Purge of Dublin (destruction of multiple mining and storage facilities) are a testament to that. However, apart from that, the Enclave largely limited themselves to interdicting Bretonian, Libertonian, and Crayterian transports, as well as maintaining the old Royal Intelligence spy network and facilities in Gallia.

Now, almost a year after its formation, the Enclave remains a thorn in the side of Bretonia and Gallia alike. The mixture of loyalists, royalists, revanchists, and opportunists have organized themselves into a well-functioning, battle-hardened mechanism. What happens next remains to be seen...

Royal Navy

The shield and the sword. When Gallic Royal Enclave was formed, the loyalists of the Gallic Royal Navy formed the majority of its forces. The loyalists from the Royal Gendarmerie became a part of the Navy as well, to keep the command structure organized. Ever since the Gallic Confederation reformed its military, the term "Royal Navy" now applies only to Enclave forces. In the Enclave, they perform both military and police duties on the planet surface and in space.

Security Bureau

The ears and the eyes, sometimes even a poisoned blade of the Enclave Command. The Security Bureau takes to care for stability within society, while our enemies remain weak, dragged in the chaos caused (or not) by ESB agents. They mostly act as the so-called "Police of Thought" – making sure the Enclave population has no deviant thoughts or rebellious attitudes, as there no worse issue than the one born within. They also engaged in the infiltration of foreign organizations, corporations and even house authorities to make sure there is no surprise threat to the Enclave, but this is rather particular cases than statistics.

Logistics Corps

The hammer that's forges Enclave's industry. The majority of Enclave Logistics Corps formed from the loyalists of the Gallic Metal Service, that remain loyal to the King and old regime, and minor corporations, such as Montluc Advanced Engineering, Altair Robotics and et cetera. All together they are engaged in space and surface engineering, logistics, repairs and many other works required to keep the Enclave's war-machine work well.

Research Corps

While many are dragged into the game of nobles or other internal affairs, the Research Corps, founded on the base of Uxeau Royal University of Prince Joseph make sure the progress shall not stop even for a second. Performing regular research and sending expeditions to the uncharted space in search of new worlds for the Enclave, the Research Corps is probably the only organization not engaged in internal politics or operations focused on direct damage against hostiles.
