Dublin's Destructive Dissidents
BATTLESHIP HOOD – The battlecruiser Blackrock, reinforced by the advance forces of the Ark Royal deployment to Dublin, set out to lure the Enclave Carillon detachment into open engagement clear of the asteroid fields of Dublin. The former GRI asset had been a thorn in the side of the locals for quite some time, murdering helpless miners in its numerous raids to undermine Bretonia's rebuilding efforts. But what appears to have started as a continuation of the ongoing war effort between Bretonia and the Gallic Royal Enclave in the Dublin system quickly turned up with results unexpected by either force.

Records from Battleship Hood’s sensor array confirm that the Blackrock got the fight it wanted when the Enclave took the bait. As the Blackrock appeared to be calling in its wings from a patrol, the Carillon and her forces burst from the cover of the Hood Asteroid Field. The Blackrock wings, supplied with extra fuel, quickly broke from their formation and engaged the Carillon. The two fleets were evenly matched and battled ferociously, in a pattern that slowly drifted toward the Molly Asteroid Field as each side took severe losses. Neither side of the conflict appeared to expect a third party to get involved. The Molly destroyer Shillelagh capitalized on the chaos of battle. As the belligerents began to cross hidden mines, the Shillelagh deployed several bomber wings and its own deadly arsenal against them, slaughtering the weakened forces of each with vicious efficiency.

With both fleets sporting damage and its crews and pilots exhausted from their ongoing fight, the Molly attack was able to destroy both Battlecruisers, leaving the Molly forces as the victors in the battle. No escape pods have been found near the site of the battle, and rumors have it that the Mollys might have taken them hostage, while others seem to suggest they were picked up by allied ships that fled the scene. No ransom demands have been reported yet. The only thing we know for sure at this point is that the Mollys have broadcast a definitive statement today, from Molly provocateur Jimmy Higgins “I will make my message very clear: Dublin is ours; our land. Don't even expect to steal our gold or you'll suffer our wrath. Long live the Mollys!” Rest assured we have put our best reporters on the job but so far their statements don't differ much from their usual rhetoric: Dublin is their turf and they intend to keep it that way regardless of what Bretonia or the Enclave may claim.
