CNS Emergency Broadcast: Kepler Closed
AMES -The researchers at the Dark Matter Observatory on Ames has verified a disturbing claim: The material of the dark matter cloud that enveloped Alberta has been trickling into Kepler through unstable jump holes between the two systems. This dark-matter siphon appears to be speeding up, dramatically expanding the volume of dark matter in Kepler. Scientists are scrambling to try and explain how this could have happened, let alone with so little notice.

Meanwhile Ageira has announced that due to the cost of operating in dark matter clouds, the company will be shutting down all maintenance for the jump gates and trade lanes of Kepler. The gates themselves are slated to be decommissioned to prevent any malfunctions as the gates deteriorate. Ageira PR Rep Natalie Riafsette references the company’s own foresight: “If Ageira hadn’t gone to the effort and cost of constructing a second lane connection through this unstable region of space, the connection between Liberty and Kusari would be severed for the foreseeable future.”

The councils of Ames and its satellite communities, who have experience producing the protective hull plating that Freeport 14 uses to survive its local conditions, expect to weather the storm. They have floated a bond to fund expansions of their thinner hulls, and entered into a Kishiro backed public-private partnership that will occupy many of the offices and cargo-sections currently utilized by Liberty-Kusari traffic in a Kishiro led dark matter research lab.

For your safety, the Kusari State Police and the Liberty Police Inc have issued joint travel notices for anyone entering the system: "Extreme caution ought be used near Dark Matter storms and without without proper clearance ought venture into the storm"
