On the Road to Tomioka

Background (story part that nobody reads)

As the war in Gallia rages on, the situation in Kusari grows more difficult by the month. The majority of the Naval Forces are tied up on the two fronts of this conflict, the rest of them already stretched thin trying to secure and hold the Tau region and its vital supply lines. Elsewhere, things are changing for the worse; the criminal and terrorist elements of Kusari emboldened by the continued absence of their greatest enemies. While the police is able to keep the order in the core systems, they are powerless as the feared Blood Dragons are reinforcing their claim on planet Tomioka.

The executive board of Samura is forced to watch while their convoys, miners and escorts are decimated on the dangerous journey to their destinations in Nagano, severely endangering the shareholder profits for this fiscal year. Quickly, they petition the emperor of Kusari for help. Naturally, they assure him, the war with Gallia has utmost priority. But Samura, and indirectly the people of Kusari, have invested too much into this system to let it fall into the hands of their eternal enemies. The emperor of course knows how much of his power is vested in the support of the keiretsu, and faced with this illusion of choice, he chooses correctly.

The convoys of Samura will have the protection of the Naval Forces from now on, he tells the Shogun. However both of them know, the Dragons won't shy away from a fight.

Details

This event takes place on saturday the 21st of November, 18:00 UTC.
The focus of this event is cool fighter combat with some escort fun thrown in.

Setup
  • The lawful side of this event will start in Hokkaido and gather at Otaru border station.
  • Their team will consist of 5 fighters and 1 Akegata transport.
  • It is important that the fighters have all docked on Tomioka beforehand.
  • The unlawful side will start in Tau 53 and wait at the Nagano gate.
  • Their team will consist of 5 fighters.
  • It is important that they have all docked on Takashima Depot beforehand.

Part 1

The convoy will jump to Tau 53 and make its way to the Nagano gate. At the end of the lane and just before the gate, they get ambushed by the group of blood dragons. The transport moves ahead towards the gate and waits there while the fighters duke it out.
This can result in two possible outcomes:

Outcome A

The escorts are destroyed.
When the last escort ship is destroyed, the transport will proceed through the gate and the attackers will give chase, trying to destroy it before it reaches Tomioka.
In the meantime, the escorts are allowed to respawn on Tomioka. They will head immediately towards the transport, trying to reach it before it is destroyed. If any attacker ships were destroyed, they are allowed to respawn on Takashima and also move to the transport.

Outcome B

The attackers are destroyed.
When the last attacker ship is destroyed, the convoy will continue to move and head through the gate to Nagano. They are then on their way to Tomioka.
The full attacker force now respawns at Takashima and intercepts the transport before it reaches the planet. Here as well, the winning force can respawn their dead ships and support the survivors in the second battle.

Part 2

The second fight will play out much like the first one, the transport waiting nearby. Should the escorts win here, the event is won and the transport safely moves to the planet. Should the escorts lose, the transport still has the chance to run to Tomioka, but will most likely be destroyed on the way there.

If the transport was already destroyed before the reinforcements arrive, the battle will happen anyways, the lawful fighters trying to kill those dragons at least.

Sign-up

For now this event is limited to KNF and BD ships and one samura transport, if we don't get enough attendance I might open it up for other IDs, like GC.
In the unlikely case that I get more participants than slots to fill, I will think about expanding the scale of the event.
If anybody wants to take over the part of flying the samura transport, they are highly welcome to. Otherwise I will do it.
Please post here with your name and ship if you wish to participate.
