I don't get why people aren't allowed to have them. It makes no sense in my mind why a part of your persona should not be customizable. It does no harm to anyone, but for some reason the staff have always had a stubborn " OMG NO WE CANT DO THAT TAKE THE ONES WE GIVE YOU OR GET FUCKED ARORORORORO LOLOLOLOL".
Pls explain/vote.
It would be cool to have badges / medals under your profile picture, and to be freely able to customize your title like your pfp or signature.
I remember back in 2009 when you had 2000 posts you can customize it yourself. The server also had 200 players online at evenings back then. I'm not saying the two are connected, but hey. (^:

The game drastically went downhill after removing customizable user titles and the Deep Blue forum skin, can't just be a coincidence

Actually this is related. It rewards the player with novelty whilst not affecting gameplay. Kind of like the badges in CSGO. It doesn't really mean anything but the psychological impact is there. It's what so many games do it hell look at steam.
The impact it had on discovery might not have been much however but the idea is related.
I think it shuld remain as it is:
-Who want them have to make effort by earning it in event or by licking someoes boots,
-Ones who dont want them simply think: meh, "Member" title is perfectly fine.
