Today we have sadly have to announce that the founder of the faction has left our ranks, with full respects and in a friendly manner.

If you didn't know, our former 1iC is the sole reason why this faction exists in the first place, and arguably his efforts in the beginnings and the decision to make a serious attempt at a Maquis faction play a huge role in the current thriving Gallic Unlawful scene which virtually did not exist just a few months ago.

We owe him a tremendous debt of gratitude, good luck wherever your steps take you.
Uh... why Flood?
I'm glad the Maquis survived the chaos of the last couple years. But the real question is...what are you guys going to do in the long run? Keeping it going is the hard part, I find it a shame to see folks gather a big group of players with loads of ships, equipment and skill, and not have much to actively plan around.

Every house should be the same way, we need some real things that can be fought over (stations) to give factions some purpose. Imagine if maquis could try to capture some stations and territory, and always have a more tangeable goal to work on. We need some guaranteed avenues for factions in the future! That is what should be going on here all the time, there could be plenty of story writing itself here, and it could be used to drive up consumption and trade. If the factions supported it. it would finaliy happen!
Rest in Pepperonis Dankrius. You will be missed.

Actually, I can tell you that in terms of roleplay projects in motion that are planned we have almost too much on our plate and they span some 6+ months where we hope to expand on assets in canon.

And potential fixes, plots, roleplay opportunities for years to come because of the nature of the faction both being isolated from Sirius and untouched by long term players. In fact standard members are being given charge over diplomacy over specific factions, multiple people encouraged to make events etc. Cargo piracy, roleplay, smuggling - all those work splendidly.

The main issue so far has been actually non sign up PvP itself for pure PvP players and we'd be screwed without Tau fights - we are yet to win a single fight in Gallia proper, besides meeting a random indie where unlawfuls don't get wiped sooner or later. And one time when Coalition came but our pilots died first and didn't see the rest of the fight. Our official event ended with some 1:2.7 KD Ratio. Unlawfuls didn't even get within 30k of an admin made sieged base during the event Smile It's natural because the only regularly played unlawfuls got merged with main lawfuls - but can get frustrating for a lot of purely PvP oriented people.

We are working on this by e.g. having plans to allow indies to fly Battleship with heavily nerfed engagement lines only in Gallic Lawful Zoi, try to encourage other factions to join in like our indies, Gaians , Brigands and BD+ Coalition etc. where we literally gave out 20 ships and helped make open events, and regular sign up events - but it will go slowly understandably and take some time. There never was a thriving unlawful (non-Enclave) scene in Gallia proper besides some temporary flashes when one faction would flare up, and then dissapear again.
