Ambush! - Panic in Tahoe

An open invitation roleplay combat event.

Following maintenance and the installation of a new weapons battery on the San Diego Border station, a fresh batch of weapons and ammunition has been requested to replenish the current armament, which finds itself at the end of its useful lifecycle. Liberty Navy Central Command comissions the Logistics Corps of the First Fleet to carry out the delivery and complete the task.
The shipment is prepared at detroit munitions consisting of armaments and ordnance of the latest point-defense technology, fresh from the production line. Considering this to be little different than a normal logistics run to San Diego, the convoy is established of a Bison-class Transport vessel escorted by a usual fighter wing patrol. The path being a common route for Navy Pilots, no trouble is expected along the way. The threat level for the Navy is minimal at this time.

However, being the Hackers that they are, the evil Lane Hackers intercepted various transmissions from their listening posts, informing them of a priority shipment passing through the system of California. Mistaking the shipment for invaluable lane parts used in the construction projects of the border worlds, the Lane hackers quickly reached to their local allies, the Liberty rogues and the Outcasts to provide some muscle and assist them in their dirty work. Quickly they agree on an ambush in the Tahoe cloud.

However, little did they expect that the target would be a coordinated Navy unit, carrying nothing more than armaments and munitions. While it may not have been the most valuable cargo they expected, the rogues admired the idea of getting their hands on those cutting-edge point defense turrets. Wihtout a second thought they move in on the convoy, bringing it to a halt and disabling the Bison's power core. A dogfight ensues as the escort tries to buy some time for the transport to restart its engines. The Panic Alarm is sent system-wide and reinforcements are expected from Battleship Alma.

In midst of the chaos, how will the fate of our pilots be decided?

- OPFOR fighters and snubs set up ambush at the designated trade lane ring in the middle of the cloud.

- Objective CONVOY departs from Detroit munitions in New York and is cut off at the designated trade lane ring.

- BLUEFOR/CONVOY fighters and snubs move into the designated area to join in on the dogfight.

- OPFOR Capital Ships gather up at the Alcatraz Depot and move to the designated area to block the north side of the cloud.

- BLUEFOR Capital Ships gather at Battleship Alma and engages the OPFOR capital ships at the designated area.

+1

if I remember, that is.
Will be there on [LN]
Note to spectators:

Don't bring anything other than camera ships with Freelancer IFF. For that, just create a new ship, go to Conn with it, get the camera ship (you don't need go get money for that, it's cheap enough on any restart) and make sure it has a Freelancer IFF. Nothing is more annoying than people bringing capital ships or cloaked ships to spectate, especially when they appear red to one side of the combatants. So please do everyone a favor and only spectate with camera ships, and don't get closer then 2k from a snub battle - you otherwise end up drawing the attention of mines.
Thank you for the tip Sombra. Spectators or anyone trying to get some good footage is always welcome as well.
very good idea and event, thank you! you can count on some unlawful adversaries Smile
Sounds cool, I'll be there too :}
The more the merrier, shake up the hives of scum and villany and bring as many unlawfuls as you can (:
Cool idea, sounds fun!
