Yeah, so, here I am still stuck in real life, embroiled in the rat race getting my bills paid, & coming in to find the community flingin' poo at each other again like it's the end of the world.

Trust me, it's all just trivial drama...It seems that alot of you guys have your entire social life & self-worth tied into the community here to an extent that y'all have lost touch with reality.

I could say "lighten up" or "It's only a game" but let's face it: saying stuff like that doesn't do any good, because to alot of people here, this place is their life.

I know it's a big scary world on the other side of the door, & alot of you can't just turn off the computer & interact with real people, cause in the real world, you can't convey how cool you're convinced you are when you have to look another human in the eye in real time & within arms reach.

The outside world is a harsh place, & people can't act like a metard out there like they can in here, cause out there, metardation can get your nose broken.

But don't worry! I'm from the outside world & I'm here to help!

I can help you ease into reality slowly with an old contraption known as 'Television'

TV light ain't a substitute for sunlight, but hey, Rome wasn't built in a day...& besides, you gotta start somewhere, & getting your butt off the computer stool & plopping it down in the TV chair is at least a start, cause odds are, the TV is closer to your front door than the computer is.

Here's some viewing recommendations to help you help yourself & begin the weaning process & make your online withdrawal less painful:

The 4400 A group of 4400 individuals abducted by aliens & returned back to earth & discovering the each have manifested various 'abilities'

(Heroes, while being cool in its own right, stole alot of its concepts & tone directly from here)

Breaking Bad A high school science teacher is diagnosed with lung cancer & turns to cooking & dealing meth as a means to provide for his family financially after his death.

(you just have to watch it in order to really understand the depth of the shows coolness)

Dexter IMHO, the absolute motherlode of the best TV has to offer...but hey, I'm really more twisted than many people like to pretend they are.

This one is about the life & times of your friendly neighborhood sociopathic limb dismembering serial killer

Hustle A BBC show I discovered by accident, about a group of con artists & the ways the scam their 'marks'

Brilliant & hilarious on every level...even the one 'weak' episode they had didn't truly suck, per se

Leverage I think of it as the "American Hustle" A group of Grifters (con artists) use the money from their biggest score to scam the 'big guy' who is out to screw the 'little guy' ...it's like Robin Hood & The Sting made an adorable episodic baby.

Speaking of Robin Hood This one from the BBC is IMHO really, really fun fluff & worth every minute of time you put into it

Sons Of Anarchy Up there with 'Dexter' in my book, this show is one of the coolest things on TV, a brilliant drama about the members of a criminal biker gang...& the closest thing to a soap opera that a man can watch & still keep his huevos

True Blood This one is also up there with 'Sons' & 'Dex'...About how a vast number of Vampires integrate into society after the Japaneese invent synthetic blood & sell it in six packs like beer.

That's just a few to start with, & y'all should give these a shot:cool:
Might i add Scrapheap challenge

It's simply an awesome show, groups people are given a objective and they have 10 hours to buld a contraption to solve it out of materials in a scrapheap.

objectives involve: disarming goo-bomb mines, getting over huge sand dunes, cutting down trees, making a rail vehicle that can't put power into its wheels (one team once built a scrappy jet engine!)

Scrapheap challenge is one of my favrit' shows!

as for the whole thing of 'this is people's lives' ive gone a month without a whole straight hour of FL or computer (when my BIOS passed on) so i can live without FL. not that i want to but regularily socialise in-the-flesh, as socialising with internet people, who many of whitch i find scary.
I've come to like the new NBC show 'Merlin'. It's corny as hell, but good to zone out too.

Yeah, TV is a grand escape from any reality, be it internet or outside. Also, Dexter is the best out there for people with twisted minds (pretty much all of us, no?).

Though, there are great ways to connect your computer to reality. Here is a wonderful site: www.meetup.com

Find a group you are interested in and go. It can be lots of fun whether you enjoy reading 17th century literature or enjoy blowing stuff up...whatever!
Add Burn Notice and Rescue Me to the list.

Actually, Merlin is a direct import from the UK & was on the BBC last year or so...it's fluffy like Robin Hood & I liked it alot & been meaning to lookup season 2 that should start airing soon over there if it hasn't already:cool:

& @ Dopa: Yeah, 'Burn' & 'Rescue' have been on my list for months now & from what I hear, both more than worth the time.

Oh! & I watched all the episodes of "Lost" in the past month for the first time, & I can say that all the nay-sayers online that claim the show sucks are just people with no real attention span to deal with an uber panoramic storyline & suffer from the ADD...it's like eastern philosophy on a stick

...

I...

Hate......

That show....

Not that I've watched it, but I just heavily dislike it.
How can you hate something you've never seen? If you wanna hate it, watch an episode or 2 THEN you are free to hate it if you like.

I hate 'Stargate' with every fiber of my being, but I made sure to watch about 6 episodes before I started slamming it.

I've got some uber-geek friends that love the show, but the're just nuts & think that I just don't understand the concept of cool.

I am however, willing to give Stargate: Universe a shot, cause it seems to be made for people that don't like the rest of the franchise...If I end up hating it, it will be because I watched some of it first:P

Point is: don't knock it till you tried it, cause "cool" has the broadest definition on the planet.
Let's see, the 4400 is kinda weird, havent watched a lot of it but i dunno, seems a little, slow or something, I dunno.

Breaking bad is awesome.

Dexter is awesome, though i tried to rewatch the first season recently and couldnt. It is more of a serial really, lot of drama, not a ton of deep meaning, though it certainly seems to pretend it has some and is still pretty awesome.

Havent seen hustle or leverage or robin hood.

Sons of anarchy, I tried, i really did, but they are all such horrible people and there is no comic relief. Sorry, just cant watch it.

Burn Notice and Rescue Me are also pretty great, I especially like rescue me. It really deals with some interesting issues and hits some emotional buttons yet remains incredibly funny and amazingly innovative. I mean musical numbers in a raunchy fireman comedy/drama, simply amazing.

If you are going to put dexter in there might want to add weeds, and if rescue me is in there, definitely Californication, i love that show, a lot. Duchovny rocks and the rest of the cast is good as well. I also have a weakness for comedy/dramas about love sex and family, must be the hopeless romantic in me.

Uhhh, lets see, anything else that could go on that list... Hung could go either way, I think it is not gonna be too good tough. I rather like Nurse Jackie, Edie Falco is very good in it and another comedy/drama about love and families but also about life and death and dealing with people at moments in between these two places.
