I meet up sometimes when i trading, A pirates (pirate ID) with Freelancer IFF. But this is Freelancer ID description :

Freelancer ID

Pilot carrying this ID is a Freelancer, who:

* Can trade and escort traders

* Can hunt pirates, terrorists and lawfuls across Sirius

* Can fulfill lawful and unlawful bounty contracts

* Cannot pirate <--- !!

* Cannot use any transports with more than 3,600 cargo

Allowed ships: Fighters, Bombers, Freighters, Transports, Gunboats

Carrying unmounted IDs in your ship, as well as not equipping an ID, is a serious crime.
So it is allowed ? Cause i think it should't be. I ask, cause i saw some groups with that compilation

PS. First i try search and not found any topic like that so i create.;)
Yes, but it is which ID they have that counts.
Pirates that are fully independent, not linking themselves to any pirating NPC faction, mostly prefer taking on Freelancer tags.

It is not against the rules.
Rule-wise, you should mostly look at just the ID.
Of course, you can't have combinations of ID and tag like Outcast ID Corsair Tag, but in this case, it's okay.
But he doesn't have FREELANCER ID,he has Pirate ID as you said,so Freelancer ID terms don't worth for IFF I guess.and pirate ID means you are indie pirate, you work for yourself.

Edit.ahh Swift beat me
Ninja power.
Ok. I see now, thanks for replyes. Cheers.

Pirates do NOT wear Freelancer ID's ... they wear Pirate ID's. I suggest you actually read the Pirate ID ... it SPECIFICALLY states that the person with a Pirate ID must have either a Faction IFF ... OR ... a Freelancer IFF. Freelancer ID and Freelancer IFF are quite different.
In piretas ID infocard there is written that you must have some pirate faction or freelancer iff
Its not logical. We cannot mix enemy equip, of course, but we shouldnt mix tag + ID too, if it doesnt match.

Quote:Equipment used must match tag and ID as closely as possible. For example, it is not allowed for Corsairs to use Outcast ships and guns.
As i read this, it means: Dont mix equip/tag/ID in a way, where is a contradiction. Again:

Quote:For example, it is not allowed for Corsairs to use Outcast ships and guns.
Because there is a contradiction obviously.

Freelancer tag + Pirate ID is not "close as possible", because there is a contradiction too. Smaller than the outcasts <-> corsairs one, but still:

Quote:* Cannot pirate <--- !!
and

Quote:the person with a Pirate ID must have either a Faction IFF ... OR ... a Freelancer IFF.
We shouldnt ignore the ID infocard belonging to the tag we wear.

It may been hardcoded in the rules, that the combination of FL tag and pirate ID is well chosen, but, like i said, i read it otherwise.
Tell you what, propose another IFF for a pirate faction that holds no allegiance to any other currently established group and I'm sure people will consider switching. Until then, Freelancer is the best option we have.

Freelancers aren't generic good-guys. A Freelancer's attitude towards the law is entirely dependent on the character's attitude towards it. If it makes you feel better just think of FL ID'd FL IFF'd ships as 'good Freelancers' and Pirate ID'd, FL IFF'd ships as 'bad Freelancers'.
Straight from the gereretic pirate ID:

Quote:Pirate ID
Pilot carrying this ID is an independent Pirate of the Sirius sector, who :
Can demand credits or cargo from traders and unallied smugglers or factions
Can engage pirates, terrorists and lawfuls within their Zone of Influence
Can fulfill unlawful bounty contracts
Can trade and escort smugglers
Can ally with unlawfuls, mercenaries, and freelancers
Cannot ally with any lawfuls
Cannot use any ship with more than 3,600 cargo capacity, except for the Pirate Train
Cannot land on any lawful bases across Sirius except for Zoner bases
Allowed ships: Fighters, Bombers, Freighters, Transports, Gunboats, Pirate Train
Carrying unmounted IDs in your ship, as well as not equipping an ID, is a serious crime. Players using the Pirate ID must have either an unlawful tag or freelancer tag and their equipment, ship and area of operation must also reflect their tag.

I recommend the use of Junker stuff and IFF if you stay outside of Kusari.
