so, when ppl using cap ship saying anti-bomber ability is too poor, and forums say the famous line
so, eliminate the factor of your buddy is not online or timezone difference, leave the ship factor only

the only "real bomber" i've seen in game is the RH heavy bomber and Barghest (order bomber is close enough, yes, Order bomber it's a brick in space we almost use for target practice)
their advantage:
hard-core anti-cap: 1 CD 2 Torp slot, making a cap want to flee impossible while having 2 torp providing heavy fire power
powerful power core: keep the "fire" going on those dual-torp slot
heavy armour: can take some pounding from enemy fighter
Freighter shield: stronger than the fighter shield (capacities/recharge rate)
their Dis-advantages
big size
slower speed
bad turning
sacrifice for having 1 CD dual torp setup with powerful power core and heavy armour, and become easy target for fighters
now take a look at "light bomber" (aka. the regular bombers)
advantage:
fighter size while having dual torp/CD slot
less than powerful power core
medium turning
while having powerful anti-cap weapon, also have power to defend themself from fighter due to their size and medium aglity
dis-advantages
slower speed (like all other bombers)
heavyght bomber vs fighter
Fighter:
fast turning
medium hull
more regular guns
small size (depends on which fighter)
faster speed
cannot deal enough damage to capitals
fighter shield
weak power core
CM
Barghest

able to deal massive amount of damage to capitals

conclusion: get an escort is not so much of a solution to Battleship captains right now, due to the massive usage of Light Bombers, it takes fighter long long time to take them out with guns (due to the factor of shield running and strafing). the only weapon can actually hurt a bomber hard is using missiles, due to massive 1 hit damage (if it hits that is, because of CM, server lags, player lags).
So, either make all bomber like the size of Barghest/RH Heavy Bomber and with less aglity, or buff capital ship's survival rate from bombers (buff anti-bomber weaponry or whatever that works)
let's put battleship in the form of Light bomber

Osiris has 18 turrets with Liberty Dread hull stats, power core of a Rhienland BS, speed of Liberty Dread
it has 10 primary turret and 8 solaris
having good anti-cap abilities while having anti-fighter/bomber abilites. with its size, it's almost uber
just like the light bombers, having enough ability to avoid getting hardly rape by their supposly biggest enemy while having a privilige of anti-cap.
again, civilized discussion, no "ur a cap whore, u suppose to get rape by anything, even a starflea" or stuff like that
