Corsairs and Outcasts had Class 9's from Vanilla too let's get those up here as well, I'm curious.
I bring this up because there is a rather large issue of escorts not beiing able to do their job well enough, particularly against bombers. The target of discussions has been to nerf bomber's I argued the guns (whether bomber or fighter) were not strong enough to chew shields and armour well enough to down the enemies targeting the transport/cap. The Vanilla GMG SkyBlast B's were designed to battle against NPCs that don't regen. The Disco SkyBlast B's got a damage reduction and the energy usage raised while keeping it's short range. This nerfed guns is then thrown in to try and take down NPCs that regen and PC that use full equipment and armour upgrades. I pointed out that the guns need to be buffed, I am now pointing out that the nerfs need to be removed.
I'm pretty sure outcast class 9s received a 100m/s bonus and got a little better in other places too.

Regardless of overall balance, skyblasts need to be improved. They're down there with Gaia's Angels and Luger Ds.

Krakens and Wyrms have always been 700 m/s. Dragoons 700 m/s also and Pyros 600 m/s.



Kraken dmg was nerfed. From 586 ( as I remeber ) to 556.

Salamankas were boosted.. from 489 too 530. But they also got the bigger energy consuption.

I always thought Krakens were 600 o_O
Seems not... xD

Looking at Vanilla Freelancer, I don't think Krakens damage was nerfed. It's still 556 even without Discovery activated. Maybe it was nerfed from 4.84 to 4.85 though...

Skyblasts are rather weak at the moment. For a faction that doesn't use capital ships you think our fighter weapons would be formidable.

Please, at least remove the nerf.
They are actually pretty heavily used by the faction too. Myself I have 4 on my Fighter and 2 on my Bomber and I know many of our members can say the same thing. I have no intention of changing my loadout as I do what I do quite well. In fact, if I wasn't currently replaying the SP story and poking around in space I wouldn't have noticed that the ones in the original game were more in tune with the infocard (Higher damage at lower energy efficiency, not lower damge at even lower energy efficiency). This is also notable to me since there are so many people concerned about escorts being unable to down their charge's assailants with enough probability of success. I, having always used these guns, felt compelled to argue that the forward guns needed to be buffed when I was flying with guns that were nerfed and placed in a tougher environment than the originals. I still argue that the guns need to buffed and bombers not nerfed even if the bomber's use the same guns. Escorts would be better at their jobs no matter who's sporting them as they will be firing on ships that are focused on another, the guns need to eat shields and hull faster. Chucking that in, sorry ;)
Digging up the old thread to get some opinions.
I have noticed this just some 2 days ago when Prowler mentioned it somewhere else, I thought Skyblasts had same stats as in Vanilla. They must have been changed at some place in 4.83 or earlier.

Krakens have that and Salamancas were changed only recently in 4.85. I'll have a proper look at them when I'm home, they can have stats that are similar to Daitos.

While we'r at GMG why is it that I only see them in Eagles and Rocs? Don't like own shipline?

The HF is imo the best HF there is.
Stinger is the hardest to hit VHF with average turning, average powerplant and average armor, yet since it's so hard to hit it's rather great.
The bomber is one of the best heavy bombers and has centered torp slots.

I can partly understand why the Rocs, cause they are easier to use vs fighters/bombers, but the fighters I can't.
