I fly a Spatial as an explorer, basically an excuse to see the sights of Sirius.
Occasionally (very, because I play about 4-6 hours after a restart) I run across a wreck, or want to do a little mining, or what have you, and I find that with my RP cargo and armor upgrade, both necessary to survive in the troubled times of Sirius, that the cargo bay is pretty small for a ship that size.
Now one would argue that the Spatial isn't supposed to be a freighter, that it's cargo hold is so small because of the living accouterments take up a lot of space, that blah blah.
But I was doing some digging, and find that the CSV, yes, that little thing the Junkers and Hogosha drive, has the same cargo-hold size as the big honkin' Spatial. That doesn't seem right to me.
I know there's an update coming out fairly soon (rumor has), and I'm hoping this can get done and implemented into said update. I'd like to see the cargo size of the Spatial increased to around 300. <insert random "Sparta" joke here>
I think 300 cargo space is easily conceived for a ship that big, and it's not too big to compromise the purpose of other ships. The only real argument against it is that with 300 cargo, it could mount the capital armor upgrades. Is the combat-worthiness of the Spatial really sufficient to warrant this argument? Are we going to see fleets of Spatials with CapVI and SNACs roming the skies? Those things are as big as barns, they're not hard to hit. I don't think balance would be a problem here.
So could this be done? And in a timely manner? I hope so.
