Just throwing this out there. Since the Recycler and CSF has risen to their places as the bomber/miner SHF hybrid and the monster combat freighter respectively for the Junkers, the Collector is largely unused. Its original purpose is as a highly durable fighter with a good cargohold and limited agility and offense.
I don't need to tell you these two ships manage to fill the original specialty roles for the Collector to a much fuller extent. Both the freighter and SHF have more durability, more firepower and much better cargoholds.
The Collector has its advantages in terms of somewhat smaller size and better agility, but it's a lame-duck VHF with its limited turn arcs and relatively low firepower. The reasons for this balance was because back when it was balanced, 120 cargo and 110/110 regens were worth sacrificing power for. But with a 260/260 SHF with 200 cargo, and a super-plant freighter with 7 forward firing guns in the mix. its original job is done better by ships that have come into their own after it.
Is there some way it can be looked at again to give it a new role and new life?
