Keep the ability to demand ore. Limit which ships they can use. A miner shouldn't be in some of the combat vessels I've seen them in, their escorts should. An escort shouldn't be using a miner ID as he isn't a miner either.

they are miners.. the escort is mining the ore out of the pirated miner vessel. Its still mining.. He shoots and Ore drops

IMHO, the only Transports Miner IDs should fly is the Hegemon, since that is the only transport used to mine. I'm sick of these people in non-mining pwnships.

What would a Miner need for a greater mining bonus when they can just wait for the next transport, and in minimal effort of shooting it and the waste of 5 minutes, take their cargo and sell it at the station halfway down the lane?

Doesn't matter that you almost got killed by me (would have, had I not run out of TCDs). What matters is that you killed my escortee.

Unless you'd justify your ship choice by letting me know which faction gets a mining bonus in it.

I wasn't aware that he needed to justify anything to you. He's not breaking the rules, he's flying a transport that only has 6 guns and being called a lolpirate in a pwnboat.
