Well simple toughts.

I just wonder what exactly being done to it.

Had few expierences now.. it dies in fights really fast now. Or I dont know perhaps I just had 20 + fighters on my arse at the moment ( 4 times in a row?) But it just, well it's almost barghest now. I have my rha thor and now its even better than preatorian.

I chacked fl stats. Reaction time same. Turn rate same.


If hitbox was changed not to fit the model I want to see it, if possible.


Or perhaps something else was changed. Well can you give some feedback about it?


P.S for all one-sided outcast players (looks at dincu) I know you want to have weaker stuff to those you fight, but I just wonder about balance a bit.

Anyhow I' not asking to buff it agian nor anything. I understood that it is futile to do it. So I won't. But atleast can I know waht exactly being done to it?

(if it will face to be something really bad, perhaps it will be a motvation to start using other bombers, make contracts of convayence with other factions I dont know yet)
Question is how much are those experiences affected by "feeling".

Hitbox is same, size is same, model is same.

Flstat fails.

All 3 Rotation inertias were changed to same number as other heavy bombers. Before praetorian had 20k on each axis (same as light bombers) while all heavy had 22k, now it has 22k as well.
Rotation intertia has an effect a bit similar to mass when it comes to dodging.

3rd (roll) turning speed was also changed a bit down. This affects how fast it reacts to changes in direction.

While the rotation inertia should stay at the new value. The roll speed should be adjusted a bit. It was supposed to be a bit different for the final update but due to some problems it's now a bit worse than during the final tests, this will be corrected in next update.

Feeling, well perhaps, but I just saw those bombers being snaced to easy (one of those was Lucas ... and he is really not the guy who is easy to snac)

And few last fights I had. It eats firepower very fast, I hardy keep up by pressing "use bots" button. Earlier i could survive quite much longer. Well I fully understand that this should have been changed, but the result is.. well drastic.


Anyhow, hoping to see some changes anytime soon.
i have tested the praetorian recently. - but since i am a casual pilot ... you have to take my opinion from the point of view of someone that only occasionally uses this ship.

before, i used the praetorian as a pure piracy ship against transports and the occasional escort. - before, the praetorian did exceptionally well - ignoring the escorts completely - and focussing on the transport - i was usually able to blow up a transport that relied on its escorts and refused to pay ( which is the point of having escorts, i dare say )

now - it can still do it. - when focussing on a transport - i can 100% ignore the escorts - provided i do the general dodging. - it needs exceptional escorts to stop me from hurting the transport a lot ( exceptional means - you need escorts with a MUCH higher skill than the bomberpilot to actually do anything about the piracy attempt )

i have not tested the ship in a pure anti-fighter pvp or a group pvp, cause i only use it for piracy.

compared to the mamamoru ( FA bomber ) - its quite balanced ( its the only other one i fly atm ) - the light FA bomber feels slightly safer cause it reacts quicker ( or feels like it does ) - and the FA bomber has a vertical mesh, which i consider "better" than a flat and horizontal design. - but the FA bomber suffers from the lower powercore ( suffers hits the nail quite much, cause its able to turn quicker and make more jousts against a transport / enemy, but lacks the energy )

the praetorian has the energy - but takes a little while to turn, - the feeling about its mass mainly comes from the reaction ( roll )


however when i compare it to the GMG bomber ( or the rheinland bomber especially ), its quite a lot worse, both, GMG bomber and especially the rheinland bomber are tiny ( or so they appear ) - and "feel" quicker... for wahtever reason.

but then - a corsair won t care much about those, cause corsairs don t really fight the rheinland military bomber or the GMG bomber.... they fight the bretonian brick and the falcata - i think .

Just a fix about it ...

Well I didn't talk with equanimitee and ProwlerPC, but since the corsairs (so the Black Sails) operate in the sigmas, we will be more active in these parts of Sirius so GMG/Dragons vs Corsairs fights will come.

Except that, about the praetorian, I felt like I was in a gunboat, but I don't play that much last times, so don't really mind this. I could nevertheless participate in the destruction of lot of outcasts ships (2 dessies, 4 or 5 GS, 2 bombers, 1 sabre) while we all kept alive.

not need to nerf it....i like the "old" praetorian... just increase the model *slightly* so that it CAN be hit in a head on attack using snac.... my snac aim is not top notch, but even then, sair bomber is almost impossible to hit from the front...

tho.... from the side its almost like a flying barn-door

What Mjolnir was saying is that the Praetorian had light bomber turning and a heavy bomber power core. Now, you can't have the best of both worlds, that would just be unfair on everyone else who either have to use a light bomber or a heavy bomber. And when it comes to bringing down capital ships.. be glad they decreased the turning instead of the power core.

About an hour ago, on another server *coughs*, I almost had a BHG battlecruiser down with one of these. Solo. (Except for a few NPCs).
It's ridiculously overpowered. Imagine what I could do to a BHG Anti-cap Dessie... >:)
The Pretorian isn't overpowered, it's one of the pretty nicely balanced ships (says the one who almost always fights against it). Mjolnir didn't say it had light bomber turning either, just reactions to turning changes (acceleration, not speed).
